Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

enjoying your updates, we were in disney store at the weekend too, is a good disney fix between trips!!!

your engagment ring is very beautiful, nice to hear the engagement story!:thumbsup2

We recently purchased a new camera so there should be plenty more pics this year. I went a bit snap happy in 2007 and I think we had around 1200 pictures or something. Im looking to double that this year if we end up doing anything extra special (like with the seaworld tour). Stefy will probably upload a few of our photopass pictures as well but be warned, they like to get thos kissing shots in :rolleyes1

Oh yes lots of pics to be taken this year :goodvibes

Don't worry won't post too many smoochy pics

Thank you :goodvibes

It is fun popping in to the store, only problem with the Oxford St one is that the downstairs part gets sooooo crowded you cannot walk or browse properly without having to move out of someones way!

Don't know how I missed it this morning, but I love your ring. It is beautiful!!! :goodvibes

Isn't it fun to get pearls at Epcot? We did that last year for the first time. Really enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing your memories with us.

I love getting Pearls in Japan, only prob there is that it can get super busy. I don't mind the one in DTD though. Hate the one in Seaworld, felt so cheated because they already open the oyster and close it back up with a plastic tie clip :sad2:

Thank you for sharing them with me, more to come soon :goodvibes

So where did we leave, ah yes Epcot.

I think that night we went to the Rose and Crown for dinner which was yumma. Dave had the steak and fish and I think I had fish and chips (man my memory is shot!).

The next day was a shopping day, we decided to try out Mall at Milenia and Prime Outlets. Mall at Milenia was pretty cool, just wish I could have bought something from every shop :cloud9:

Dave always does so well when we go shopping, there seems to be more on offer for him then there is for us girls! :confused3:confused3

After shopping we came back to this
IMG_2543-1.jpg

naughty lil thing had been watching the Disney Channel all morning!

Dinner that evening was at Ohana's and boy was it a yummy evening. Apart from waiting forever for a table (they ran out of buzzers so we had to stick close in case they called our name) it was a great meal.

IMG_2560-1.jpg

These are absolutely awesome :cloud9:
IMG_2561-1.jpg

IMG_2562-1.jpg

We loved Ohana, only complaint we had was that the noodles came out too soon before the meat, so they went cold pretty quick.

Cntd...

DHS was next on our park agenda. We arrived for rope drop but skipped the show, due to me sitting outside eating my breakfast

It was cold that morning, hence the extra layers (Dave's jacket).

We caught Jedi Training which was pretty cool.

IMG_2576-1.jpg

Thats about it for pictures from DHS that day (we were really bad), but we do have a few PP ones.

That day was also a Portrait Session at the Poly, I booked the last appointment of the day and we had such a blast and took over 120 photos. We got there a bit early so we sat in the Tambu Lounge to enjoy these...

I am sooo having a Pina Colava on the beach when we watch Wishes :goodvibes

Well thats it for tonights installment, hope you enjoyed our trip down memory lane :goodvibes

Wow, some of those names! Tiffany's, Chanel... woo-hoo could I have fun in there.

Naughty Stitch! Such mischief he can get himself into.

Ohana for dinner... mmm, I consider it but then always go back to breakfast. The kids have already insisted it be included in our next trip. :goodvibes

Now when you say cold, how exactly cold are we talking? Slip on a hoodie cold, or shiver me timbers cold?

That was fun! I must know, what is that you're drinking at the 'Ohana dinner? And do you remember what the green drink from Tambu lounge was?
Tropical cocktails at the Poly sound fantastic right about now!

Hey there! Since you came and checked out my PTR I thought I would do the same! Well, I am about halfway through your PTR. I already have a few comments/questions!

You are so lucky to be going for 2 weeks! DH only gets 10 days of vacation a year and we like to take 2 vacations. Also, the cost of spending that much time in Disney is just not possible for us right now. We are on a pretty tight budget.

I must ask, why didn't you like CSR? Were you in a remodeled room? Did you stay in Casitas or Cabanas? I would LOVE to stay in a deluxe resort but at the time it is just not possible. I am contemplating upgrading to the DxDP if free dining becomes available for us.

Also, Belle is my FAVORITE princess as well! It has always been my favorite movie, ever since I was little. I remember one Christmas I got a B&B sleeping bag, blanket, and tent. My parents even surprised me and took me to B&B on ice. DH and I are going to see B&B the musical in a few weeks and I am SOOOO excited!!!

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your PTR to get caught up. You and your DF are very close in age to me and my DH. (I am 23 and DH is 26)

I know, I could spend hours shopping in that mall I tell you

Thats why we love him :cutie: don't know why he gets such a bad rap from other Disney fans.

I am sure the kids would love dinner too, they have a story teller and a mini parade with leis that they can join in whilst you guys eat :)

Well I hate the cold, I thrive more in hot temperatures. So for me December was pretty much like London, just a few degrees warmer. I was expecting it to be cool, but I could still wear just my t shirt and jeans, but I never took my scarf off and I never took my sweatshirt off and most of the time I never took Dave's jacket off :rotfl:

But I am sure he will interject and give you a more proper run down of the temperatures from a normal persons perspective

Tropical cocktails at the Poly sound fantastic right about now!

My drink was a Pina Colava which is Bacardi razz rum blended with pina colada mix and raspberry puree (gonna try and make these at my birthday bbq luau)

I want to say that Daves was Sunken Treasure, but I will let him tell you.

The cocktail menu is extensive at the Poly and we are preparing ourselves to spend quite a bit of time in the Tambu Lounge and the Barefoot Pool Bar drinking said cocktails ;)

Yay, thanx for stopping by :welcome:

Two weeks is a pretty long time to be at the World, but we love it there and we always make the most of the time that we have there. We were really lucky that we got to stay at the Poly this year, we priced it up and with free dining it actually made it affordable for us, so we snapped it up (but not without a few should we shouldn't we).

With CSR we thought we would be getting a more adult resort, what we found was that it didn't have the Disney Magic the other resorts did and other silly little things. But bear in mind at the time I was ill, cold and the crowds that year were horrendous :sad2: (we were so surprised at the crowd level as we had specifically chosen the first two weeks of Dec because it was supposed to be dead) so that could also have been a factor for us not liking the resort.

We were in Casitas and we stayed as they were doing the refurbs, so we got a normal room. The new ones do look awesome though :thumbsup2

If you get free dining, you should defo upgrade to the DxDP, but bear in mind like most other Disers have said, you will spend quite a bit of time in restaurants because you have so many more credits etc. We don't mind though as it gives us a nice breather from walking around etc :goodvibes

How cool that you are going to see BatB Musical, I really want them to come back over here as I would love love love to see it :cloud9: You must post about it in your PTR when you go :goodvibes

What was the ice show like, sounds pretty cool :)

Feel free to ask any questions, always welcome :)

Shopping is so much fun, isn't it? Looks like you went to some great stores! :thumbsup2

How cute was it that Stitch was watching tv? I love when they do that. :rotfl2:

I am really enjoying all of your pictures.

Thats why we love him :cutie: don't know why he gets such a bad rap from other Disney fans. Stitch Rules!!

I am sure the kids would love dinner too, they have a story teller and a mini parade with leis that they can join in whilst you guys eat :) She scares me......I was paraying she wouldn't come near our table as we were wearing engaged pins and didn't want to have to get up and dance or anything lol

But I am sure he will interject and give you a more proper run down of the temperatures from a normal persons perspective  It was cold for me, especially without my jacket! If I remember correctly it was mostly mid 60's during the day and in the 40's at night. The highest it got while we were there was 80 and that was at the very end of our trip.

My drink was a Pina Colava which is Bacardi razz rum blended with pina colada mix and raspberry puree (gonna try and make these at my birthday bbq luau)

I want to say that Daves was Sunken Treasure, but I will let him tell you. Correct Ten points for you :D

Ooooooh yeah! I will take one for the Dis and consume as many of these things as possible and report back post haste ;)

We were really lucky that we got to stay at the Poly this year, we priced it up and with free dining it actually made it affordable for us, so we snapped it up (but not without a few should we shouldn't we). First it was POFQ/CBR and then it was AK and then we decided back to moderate and then we thought to hell with it lets splash out and stay in the best hotel on property ;)

There is one CM who was very nice to us though. His name is Les and he is one of the porters so if you see him stop and have a talk as he is a really nice guy.

If you get free dining, you should defo upgrade to the DxDP, but bear in mind like most other Disers have said, you will spend quite a bit of time in restaurants because you have so many more credits etc. We don't mind though as it gives us a nice breather from walking around etc :goodvibes That and we are both greedy :lmao:

I am really enjoying all of your pictures.

It is alot of fun, I didn't really go into Tiffany's or Louis as I hate going somewhere, seeing something I like and then not being able to buy it. So I figure just stay at a safe distance and all should be fine. Now if only I could say the same for internet shopping.

I know and he has the remote in front of him as well  I loved it when Mousekeeping kept doing that, I think they did one other thing but can't remember what that was, will have to ask Dave.

Thank you, more to come tonight :)

I know exactly what you mean by crowds in December! We went this past year during the third week and the crowds were bad. I guess since we went in early June and it was practically dead compared to then, it was a big difference. I swore to DH if one more person hit me with their stroller and didn't apologize, I was going to LOSE it! ;) I did go one year during spring break and NEVER again. I remember waiting in line for over an hour for EVERY ride. No thanks. I'm interested to see what the crowd level will be in October.

Well September/October is supposed to be quiet. When we went on our first trip to WDW it was in September and crowds were pretty moderate/low, bearable for me as I am the same as you on the loosing it front

OME!!! OMJ!!! I just watched the first 10 seconds of the Eclipse trailer, I cannot wait to see this. The full trailer comes out tomorrow :yay: :yay: :yay:

So where did I last leave off, oh yes we had just had dinner at Ohana. The next day was an AK day. We had decided to book (early on) a tour and the winning tour chosen was The Backstage Safari. Its a really good tour, you get to see behind the Magic at AK, see some animals up close and ride KS without the story narration. Again my leaky memory can't really remember much so I am leaving the details of the tour to Dave (over to you Dave) :goodvibes

Anyway, on with the pics, as I know thats what you really want to see ;)

We defo cannot wait to go back to Boma. I am so getting more Zebra Domes next time :teeth:

Thats it for now, will leave you with a lil clue as to where we went the next day.

Hmmm from memory I remember meeting up at the entrace to the park, getting our name tags and headsets and then off to see this huge ant eater just before the path splits off in various directions. Then we were walked around the park looking at various trees and having our guide explaining them while we made our way to our vans to go 'backstage'. Once backstage we were taken to see a white rhino (which we got to touch), look at some huge elephants and learn that you need to stand behind the yellow line otherwise you can get hit by 'missiles'.

We got to see various other bits and pieces backstage such as the food preparations (if you dont want to see dead rabbits, mice and baby chicks then look away at that point) and also where they operate on animals.

We also got to cut the line at the safari and enjoy that at a slower pace than normal. Oh you also get to sit down and have a snack and a hot chocolate/cofee or tea in a souvenier refillable type mug. At the end you get a Pin and are asked to fill out a form evaluating your tour. I make it sound so boring lol but we had a fantastic time on this tour, much much better than I am describing it and also my memory is rather fuzzy as well. If you like animals and can spare some time then you need to check this tour out.

Evening all and how are we all doing today? :goodvibes

I am really wishing today was Friday, it sure feels like it is.

One cool thing happened today, Summit finally released the trailer for Eclipse and it looks AWESOME! I cannot wait to see this in June :woohoo: Do I have any other fellow Twilight fans on here?

Anywho, on with the show.

So I last left off with a lil sneak peak of our next destination and, you guessed it right (I hope) it was School Bread from Norway, Epcot.

We decided to go here today as Dave had previously placed an order for a animal carving from these guys.

IMG_2674-1.jpg

They were really sweet and friendly. Think we must have chatted with them for at least an hour.

That night was MVMCP.
