It does me as well... just as much as it bugs me when I PM something important, they read it and then don't reply (when a reply is more than appropriate). Just bugs me.

It bugs me because sometimes it pops up that I have a pm and then other times it doesn't and then I'll go check them or go to send one and find out I have about 10 that I never read.

I hate it even more when you type out a somewhat lengthy PM hit the submit button....only to find out that person's PM box is full! UGH!!!!!!!
