Does your pet have a "pet" name?

This is embarrassing to admit, but I call Diana "Yanny" (sort of like if you pronounced it Di-Yana"). She also seems to respond better to it.

His name is Draco, he is called:

Love bug, Snicker Flicker, Drace Bee, Bumble Bee, Honey Bunny, Mommies Sweet Buns, Angel Face, Fatty, and of course the occasional &@*! Head followed by many kisses and hugs. :teeth:

There are many others but these are the only ones that come to me right now.

PeeWee (my DSis named him that because he was the runt of the litter), is also called Whiskers. He is a Schnauzer mix and those whiskers keep my floors a mess! drip..drip..

4 cats and they all have embarassing nicknames

Stryper-Stryper Diaper

Kycha- Pretty girl, Kycha Katie cat

Katie- Katiecat, Katherine, Stinky Poo, Poo Stinky

Josie- Joser, Jo Jo, Josie Dosie, Do Do, Heavy J

All my animals have pet names. They don't seem to know the difference anyway.

Max - He is called Doodle. I have no idea why, but he doesn't seem to care. When he is good he is Doodle, when he is bad he is Max.

Cleo - She is Fatty. She started putting on some weight and I joking-ly called her Fatty. She responded so it stuck.

Snow - He is called Snow-boy. (Except he doesn't actually like snow. He hates it and I doubt he will go out today in it.)

Ally - She is a hyper dog who is very smart but does dumb things. So we usually call her Stupid, Nut-job, and Wacko. Maybe not the nicest of names but they describe her well.

I never realized that I call all our pets by pet names. No wonder they are so confused when I call them by thier real names.

The :cat:

Kama- poodle
OC- Pooh Bear
Stitch- muffin

The :dog2:
Mason- Pooter

Reilly the beagle is also known as Rei-Rei...or bubby...

Sega is Segie...Evil Kitty...

I don't really give them pet names but I do insist they have a middle name. I mean, otherwise how will they know when they're in trouble? :lmao:

We have a golden retriever named Sunny. Her middle name is Jim. (Remember the guy in the pith helmet on Jumanji who called everybody "Sonny Jim"? That's where that came from.)

I used to have a german shepherd/malanois mix--her name was Charlie and of course her middle name was Brown. We had a little mutt whose name was Brandy Lou.

They almost never get called by their real names!

Magellan: Mook, Magelleno, Magenta, Mook-a-latte, Buddy, Sport, Cat

Diana: Diana-banana, Baby Girl, Little Girl

They do answer to their proper names, but we actually call Magellan "Mook" so often that he answers to it too!

I have two cats.

Sebastian often becomes Sea Bass, Bassy, or Boopy (don't ask).

Chloe's name is harder to manipulate, but she is sometime Clo-Clo or girly-girl.

So embarrassing!

I think what's more embarassing is probably the voice we all use when we call them their pet names...you know which one I mean... :goodvibes
It's definately a special kind of love...

Absolutely!! Maximus' middle name is Perro (I know) and Mickey's is Pupimus. If there is a "Maximus Perro Flohre" involved, he knows he's had it. That's when he gets the threat of a new pet name...Puppy Kung Chow. :rotfl:

We have big ol beagle that my boys named Buddy. In fact my youngest boys email is buddysboy@...... When he was a pup I was home alone with him all day while the boys were at school and he clung to me (still does) so I tripped over him A LOT! (still do) So for some strange reason he seemed to think his name was D@#%$! dog. And still to this day if I swear he comes a run'n! LOL But his fav. nick name by far would be vaccume. It's a nice little trick I taught him. If someone spills food or drink just yell vaccume and even out of a dead sleep you will have 65lbs of hound dog knocking down everything in it's path to get there. He does a darn good job of picking up the mess too, all you have to do is a quick clean up. Almost like my own personal maid. He has prob. saved me enough in paper towels to pay for his dog food! LOL

My Shih Tzu is name Kobi- and I usually call him Little Man or Sweetie Pie or Kobi + anything I can rhyme w/ it. My son constantly calls him Kobe Bryant.

Someone also mentioned their pet having middle names-- yep my dog has 3 middle names and I use the whole name when he's in trouble-- just like I do for my son. So when he's in trouble it's: "Kobi Christopher Travis James". This actually started as a joke. My dh started teasing me about treating the puppy like a baby (which I'm sure most of us do)-- and I said he was replacing the void I had from having no more kids ;) -- so I said that what dh didn't know was the I registered him (which I didn't but dh did believe me) as--"Kobi Christopher Travis James" after my dh since this was now "our baby". It would get to my dh when I called the puppy this-- and over time it just stuck. So now whenever he gets in trouble- he gets the whole, long name- and usually a lot of eye rolling for dh.

My dog Oliver answers to Moose. He's huge so that is how he got that nickname. His head is as big as Marmaduke's :rotfl: :rotfl:

My dog Destiny got shortened to Desti which morphed into Dusty. Which is really a good name for her.

Dh calls her "Dog". He'll answer the door and Destiny will be right there to great our guest. Dh will just firmly say "DOG!" and she'll sit down. For some reason this really cracks people up.

Aren't you glad you're not the only one who gives them nicknames!?! :rotfl2:

I have 3 dogs - a 12 year old schipperke named Gilly (so named because schipperke in Belgian means "Little Skipper" and the first thing I thought of was Gilligan from Gilligan's Island) - her nicknames are: Bossy Butt, Dame Gilford, Wiggle Butt. A 9 year old schauzer mix named Tippy - her nicknames are Princess Pookie Boo and Brown Dog. And a 3 year old beagle named Molly - her nicknames are Large and in Charge, Big Kid, Good Golly Miss Molly and Princess Prancy Foot.

Every, and I do mean every, pet I have ever had, my dad always gives them nicknames. I had a horse for a while, his registered name: Gay Talk - Dad's nickname: Big Brown Dummy; a hamster named Rodney - Dad's nickname: Rodney the Rocket Rodent who was a superspy...I could go on & on...

Good thread!

Well, we usually call her..........."Bad dog!" :rotfl2:

But, her real name is Molly. Sometimes we call her "Jolly Molly" because her tail wags all of the time. Even when she's "Bad dog!"

Dh named his cat Luthan (one of his gaming names-ugh!) but I call him "Bubby". My cat's name is Kali but I call her "Stinky Butt".

Dudley (Shih Tzu) =Duds, Dudley Doodle, Mommy's little Muppet Baby

Hunter (yellow Lab)= Hunts, Hunter Douglas, Stitch!

Princess Daisy Belle (11-year-old cocker spaniel): Deezer, Daisy B, Belle, Princess P, Days, Princess Pup, Belle Pupper, Sweetie Girl

Zoe (1-year-old labrador retriever): Z, Z Star, BYD (big yellow dog)

Together, the two are known simply as "the girls". :teeth:
