I'm fairly certain that my old high school has the highest Regents scores in the county. As far as academics we are excellent, sports not so great. We all used to joke around that the school put so much emphasis on grades that we had a bunch of really smart kids who didn't know how to hit a ball.

As far as drugs and all that stuff goes, my school had alot of them. You'd be surprised how the top 10 kids academically were some of the biggest users I knew. People would go out to lunch and smoke weed, snort coke in the bathrooms, basically I've seen everything but heroin.

Not to sound snotty, but it was a bunch of spoiled bored teenagers with mommy and daddy's money and nothing better to spend it on. Sad, yes, but I most people I talk to from the island have similar experiences. I was more exposed to drugs in one year of high school than I was in my first year of college.

Oh good, there are people out there who don't remember this!!!

Last year there was a flag football game between the junior and senior girls at a North suburban Chicago high school. Except they didn't play much football--all the girls got drunk and the senior girls dumped disgusting stuff and kicked the juniors. Five girls went to the hospital. Some kids caught it on video tape, which they gave to the news so the news played it over and over again.
