OK, first off, I would ask that you please dont tell me about your family all wearing the same T-shirt. I mean its a great thing to do, and we do that too, but the thread would explode, because almost everyone does THAT.

What I'm after is how does YOUR family go "BEYOND" that?

EX:
We often go as a family of Pirates. In the winter months we wear black Pirates of the Caribbean shirts and black pants and shoes (my black pants have the anti-wetness stuff that dries in seconds; great for water rides) my wife wears a Jack Sparrow red bandanna with braids. You can (now) buy them, but hers was made long before POTC2, and its much more authentic. Looks GREAT! And she looks hot as a pirate!!! :teeth: My son has the Pirate sword he always carries along, and I usually carry along his "band him in irons" rubber chains that we got at the POTC ride gift store. (They make a GREAT way to keep my son near by. We both wear one end and he dont get lost in crowds due to his lagging behind (autism). My daughter goes in a princess gown, and we tell everyone she's the governor's daughter (you'd have to be a POTC fan to get that probably)

Ive seen families all decked out in ALL tye-dye, and I once seen a family all dressed like Incredibles. Ive seen a few "Jasmin type" mom and daughters that looked pretty cool.

What does your whole family wear that gets LOTS of attention?

Please note too that this is NOT about Mickeys NSS Halloween. But if someone wants to open a thread for just that it wont hurt my feelings.

No we don't. We are dressing for the MNSSHP but other than that it is staying cool and dry. No dressing.

I thought is was not allowed anways?

Alright I thought we were hardcore by wearing matching Disney shirts, but now that I read your post...you win! :worship: I would love to see your family walking through Disney! :thumbsup2

An adult cant dress as a disney character like a Princess or anything with full headgear, but if your walking around "slightly dressed" as a character... they dont care. Take the Mickey and Tigger ears for instance. Your dressing like a character when you wear them, you just cant go "flown blown" so that kids think your a castmember and try to get your autograph. I think it calls for some common sence.
were talkin just for a little fun here.

Okay- I can't lie to you - I WOULD LOVE TO BE DRESSED UP EVERYDAY!!! :cool1:  We do all wear the same outfit together at least once and our kids will be totally dressed up this trip most of the time. I may join them for a bit. Your pirate outfits sound great! :thumbsup2

My 3 girls and I always dress up in character gear, some custom made! My DH wont participate but that's fine with us. We wear a lot of princess stuff. I am seriously considering a tiara for next trip. :Pinkbounc

HE light look a bit funny in a tiara. :) (ONLY KIDDING! I know what you mean!)

We bought some matching outfits at the Disney Store for our upcoming trip. They are Hawaiien print shirts for the boys, a dress with the hawaiien print for the skirt for DD and a skirt for me.

They are red print with a Iron on of Mickey and Minnie by the beach on them. The smallest shirt for my DS has a slightly different iron on because it has Goofy surfing. I also got a matching totebag.

:woohoo: We can't wait to wear them!!

JMHO, but I think it is CORNY when families dress up alike (except for MNSSHP) so I would never do it.

When we are in WDW though, we see tons of people doing it so I guess it is pretty common. Right now there is a big sale on the Waikiki print stuff from the Disney store, so I bet a lot of families will be wearing that down there now. We have also seen a lot of families wearing the Incredibles shirts.

No. DH would never go for dressing alike. He thinks it's goofy if he & I "accidentally" have on the same *color* of shirt when we go out. He'll usually go change his shirt.

my wife and I wore matching wide stripe rugby shirts (pink and blube stirpe) - they stood out well (in fact people from our hotel mentioned to us in the evening that they'd noticed us in the MK). These we thought were a little more "bold" than matching T-shirts - as there are lots of people in T-shirts. We tried to find an exact match for our daughter but couldn't but found something close.

Two years ago we were there on the 4th of July and about 9000 people were all dressed like our family. We had purchased flag shirts from Old Navy and all 5 us were wearing them. When we got to the bus stop there were about 15 of us or so all wearing varing colors of the same shirt. Well, we all laughed a bit....Then we go to the parks..................................

You are SOOOO right! Unbelievably corny. We do it every trip. People ask my 21 yo son if he doesn't hate it, and he looks at them and says "We get to go to Disneyworld!" We do the matching Tshirts which I make (Last trip we each had a quote from Pirate's movie on the front, and The lyrics to YO HO on the back. I also make hideous matching jams. We have never lost a family member, and believe me when I say no one has ever tried to join our group in a que! :rotfl:

Sounds like a personal problem to me. I'm very proud of my wife, and I dont mind looking like were together.

Can we just get ON with the ideas please. If you DONT dress up just keep that to yourself please. :) Not mad, :) Just keeping on topic.

I once saw a large group of senior citizens at WDW who had all bought and were wearing DOGGIE EARS! :lmao: The Mickey Ears you buy for your pets! :rotfl2: They look really goofy on a person! The ear size is much smaller than on the human ears, and it looks more like your wearing two small chocolate cookies on your head. I wonder if they even knew what they were wearing. I overheard someone say that the pet ears were $2 less. :happytv: But you gotta admit they all knew who each other were!

LOL I bought the Disney hawaii print out fits for our trip right when they came out and paid full price, now they are on sale and our trip is less then a month away.
We do dress in matching Tshirts and outfits a few times during our trip. I also have a few matching sets for my DD6 and DS2. Some of them are Disney and others from Gymboree. My DH thinks it's corny but he will wear it anyway. :rotfl2: It will look cute in the pictures.

We have matching ORANGE Disney t- shirts for our arrival. We got tons of compliments about these as we boarded the Wonder in July.

Then, we have 2 sets of "dress" outfits. DD and I have matching dresses, DH and DS have matching Hawiian shirts. All of us are in the same tropical Mickey print.

I just ordered the ones on clearance at Disney Shopping. They are not as nice as the two others. DD and my dress are jersey material and DS and DH's shirts are rayon blend. I like it when they are all the same material. (A hint- the girls and women's dresses ran very small for this pattern.)

I love to see families match- the are so ADORABLE!! The family photos come out awesome as well. Our Wonder portraits are top notch!!! :cool1:
