Yes she is 13 but she seldom watches it. She is either reading, on the phone with friends or on the computer.

I voted "other". My 5 year old DS has a Cars TV/DVD combo in his room, but he can't watch tv with it. We don't have it hooked up to get cable or any channels. The only thing he can do is watch a DVD on it.

Yep, mine both do. They had TVs, and DVD/VCR combos. Call me selfish, but I refused to watch Nick, and Disney all the time. They also have computers, one has a laptop, and the other a desktop.

I do monitor what they watch, and have parental controls set. Now they are 10, and 13. They are home by themselves at times. So far they have not been caught watching anything inappropriate, and I'm pretty sure one would rat out the other if they tried.:rotfl:

DS has had one since he was about 7. He's 15 now and watches most of his DVD's in there.

All three of mine have a tv in their room.
The boys share a room and have it hooked up to cable with a DVD player. They are only allowed to watch in on weekends or school breaks. They do not try to sneak it on, etc, they are actually very good with the rules.
Our daughter has a Dora tv/dvd combo that we do not have hooked up to cable yet. She is only 4 so, we are waiting until she gets a little older to do that. She does watch movies if she is not feeling well or on school breaks, etc.

My kids are actually not big TV fans. My oldest watched the Kids Choice awards last week. My middle guy will watch the Yankee game once and awhile in his bedroom and my daughter hardly ever watches it.

My girls are 9 & 4, and they don't have a tv :sad2:

I told my 9yr old that she can have a tv in her room when she is 16.
She wants one now, but I told her no way!!!!:sad2:
She wasn't happy, but she got over it!!! :)

Yes. My 17 & 16 yo share a room and my 14 & 12 yo share a room and both rooms have TV's.

I didn't have one until after I graduated HS in my room. Nic always had one in his room, though. At least, as long as I've known him.

My brother bought my daughter (now 8) one when she was about 3 for her room, its hooked up to basic cable, she can't get any of the movie channels on it. She also has a computer in there, video game systems etc. Thats where she hangs out with her friends.

Yes they all have tv's but just with dvd players. I dont have directv set up on any of their.

No, DS7 is not allowed one, poor DH isn't even allowed one! We have a small study room, that I might consider turning into a TV room/computer room for DS when he is a little older. Right now it just wouldn't work.

No. I'd only allow it once they've finished high school.

DS-4 has one, but it is for all the boys. The twins just don't have room in their bedroom for one right now, but we do plan to buy them one for their b-day. They don't really watch a lot of TV anyway, but they like to play PS. Like right now I wish they were watching TV instead of running around me and screaming while I'm on here! :rotfl:

No tv in the bedrooms. We have the main one, and one in the playroom that only works with the Wii (the kids call it the WiiV). Computers stay in the common area (office) too.

We had a TV in one of the boys rooms when they were younger. That resulted in my older son getting up at 5am to watch tv. It went into my bedroom, and I don't watch TV in bed.

Now that TV is in my family room and there's another in the living room. Our landlord wired this house for cable in every room and garage-and left us a TV over the workbench.

I don't watch much TV, so it's not really an issue for me. Only time we have a problem is if someone wants to watch TV in the living room and someone else wants to play the Wii.

Eventually, I may allow them TVs again, but only if I know my older son won't be turning it on very early in the morning instead of sleeping. He's far too technically inclined for us to even consider just putting a timer on one.

No but my kids are only 3 and almost 6. DS has asked about having a TV in his room but he is not ready yet even if he thinks he is. I have not set any hard and fast age rule on when they can get one. I am guessing that DS will be at least 8 and probably older before I am ready for him to have one in his room.

Becka, I have to say I love the new family picture montage! :thumbsup2

All of my kids have tvs in their rooms and they've had them there all their lives. They go to sleep with them on every night.

Yep, my boys 8 and 10 share a room and they have 2 TVs. One small one for the Wii, the other larger one they got from me after I got a flat screen in my room. It is hooked up to satellite and XBox and DVD on the Xbox. I don't monitor their TV viewing because they don't know that anything exists other that Nickelodeon. My computer is also in their room, which they use for Webkins and Club Penguin..

Mine go to sleep with theirs on, too, Momof3. If we turn it off, they will come downstairs in the middle of the night and wake me to ask why I turned the TV off.:rotfl:
