Does this time of year exist?

I'm looking for a week out of the year to revisit Disney World in 2017 or 2018.

I'm hoping for
1. Low crowds
2. Mild temperatures (70's)
3. Least chance for rain

Does this even exist? Any recommendations for something close?

As long as it's not near Easter.

Easter is usually in April. Although a couple of years ago it was tail end of March I believe. As you get closer to April temps start creeping up too.

Easter was in March this year, but is not in March again until it looks like 2024?
But Spring Breaks run anywhere from the week following President's Day in February to the week following Easter, and these are typically fairly crowded times.

I like the week after Thanksgiving/first week of December. It's not completely uncrowded, but it isn't crazy. Starting the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, crowd levels drop off. It's a great time for weather, decorations are up, etc. If I could take my DD out of school, that would be the week I'd pick.

There really aren't "slow" times at WDW anymore. It's only varying degrees of crowded, though I will say that when we were there in late June it wasn't bad at all, for at least the first few days. However, that time of year is hot.

Best bet for you would be after Thanksgiving or maybe late February, early March

I would agree that early Dec might be a good bet for you. We got all of those things you mentioned and it really wasn't very cold at night (coming from TX).

I completely agree with famy27's thoughts on the décor/etc.

I've done beginning of March twice and enjoyed it very much. As long as it's 3-4 weeks away from Easter!

I'm hoping for
1. Low crowds {week after Thanksgiving or first week in Sept (although that goes against questions 2 and 3 :)}
2. Mild temperatures (70's){ predicting weather is a crap shoot....have to hope for the best}
3. Least chance for rain {November and December fit this criteria......but again predicting weather is a crap shoot..........have to hope for the best}

My thoughts (not that they really matter :) ) are above.

Keep in mind you could be up against new attractions in AK and {hopefully HS} so low crowds are hard to determine 2 years in advance.

Whatever you decide have fun planning.

I have hear wonderful time to go both weather and crowd-wise. Also January, right after New Years.

I think it's harder than ever before to find all 3. My personal belief is that Disney is using the information they gather on MM+ to staff down when they expect lower crowds. So the lines are long no matter when you go.

Interesting theory...............I'll bet there's some of that. But in the end you just piss off your customers..............seems counter productive.........idunno o_O

You don't have a big chance at all 3. But the best shots might be January (after MLK weekend) or February (before Presidents Day.) Of course it could be colder than 70s. Or even hotter. 70s are not guaranteed.

Beginning of March could work only if Easter is not in March. Weather not guaranteed.

They seem more and more willing to take that risk lately for the payoff.

For those criteria, it is easier to get all 3 at Disneyland, not Disney World.

Thanks! Yes, we've done DLR our last 2 trips. We really enjoyed it!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Late Nov/early Dec sounds appealing.

We have done late January and "froze" with highs of 50s all week! I realize FL weather is hard to predict.

We usually go the weekend after US Thanksgiving to no later than the two weeks prior to Christmas. Usually really good weather, rarely rains (or only for short periods). It can be changeable so you still have to be prepared for anything from mid-80's to high-50s but the last three times we've been it's been warm but not too bad for the most part during the day and temperate after dark with the occasional time requiring a fleece jacket.

We don't find the lines too terribly long. Some attractions are always busy but many others not too bad and you can use FP+ for the really long ones. Having said that, with the exception of TSMM, we've usually been able to go on some of the more popular attractions a few times without terrible lines and without using FP+. And we don't do rope drop, only vaguely set a schedule about which park and what to do and are quite willing and able to make last minute changes and/or just randomly pick a park. We're usually able to get the ADRs we want, although we don't do character dining so that's not something we have to work around.

March is prime spring break for many places, no matter when Easter falls. If you want lower crowds, only the first week of March would qualify - and it's usually a great week of moderate crowds and nice weather. But, spring break will hit with a vengeance the second week of March, which is rated a 9 by Touring Plans.

Josh has posted recently about how they're not fully staffing the parks during slower times anymore, so you might wait just as long during low crowd periods as you would during high crowd times. He didn't mention MM+ as being a factor, but I think you're 100% correct on that.
