Does this mean we aren’t going to the mountains? ** 3/6 Link to new PTR**

Any day riding TS is a good day. :goodvibes I love the detalis at MGM. When I was taking a photography class, I took a lot of pictures there. There are so many different things to see when you just stop to look.

Congrats to Bill and hugs to you and GO COLTS! :thumbsup2

I am so jealous that you live so close to WDW, Bill wants to move to Florida, but I keep reminding him about our family being here. He will get his way one day :goodvibes. We really do love DHS.

GO COLTS!!!

Although I think the Saints are a fantastic team too so I really won't be too upset if they won either, but my heart is with the Colts.

It was time to take our family to Animal Kingdom. I was not feeling well when I got up, I took some medication and we left the room. Josh seemed to be in a mood before we even got to the busses. They both smoked right before we boarded. We got there, got through the turnstiles and they were all commenting on how gorgeous it was.

We were headed for the Kilimanjaro Safari’s. Bill and I were really looking forward to seeing the kids enjoying the animals for the first time. We all ooohhh’d and ahhhh’d over the Tree of Life, made a left and were by Pizzafari when Josh said “where is the smoking area”? I said “we will find one after we get to the safari, we need to see if we should get a fastpass or get in line”. Well he went off on me about being an adult, smoking when ever he wanted etc”. I told him that they just smoked before we got on the bus, we were already behind, and it was time to tour the park. Then he proceeds to say he wants to smoke, eat, and then do the safari. Well it was my turn to lose it. I told him that there were all sorts of breakfast foods in his room and we had decided BEFORE the trip as far back as June that breakfast eating would be done in the room and not burning park time. I was starting to feel worse and I was not going to put up with this disrespect again. I said I know the drill, you go smoke, we eat, you have to smoke again, it will be 1pm before we set foot on a ride. Then he just… well it wasn’t pretty. I told him they could go eat and we would just go do something. He got mad because we wouldn't be eating with them, HUH?? :sad2:

He argued, I argued back then told him I was not putting up with his inconsideration for one more moment. I turned around and walked away. My sweet Bill followed me. I went to a bench and just cried right there at AK by Pizzafari. It was the combination of feeling sick, Josh's selfishness and feeling that Bill’s day was ruined too. Bill just held my hand and told me he loved me. I kept feeling worse and asked if it would be ok for us to go back to the room. The love of my life said he would do anything to make me feel better. I felt so bad about not staying, I know how much he loves AK. I called Abbey and told her that we were leaving the park and I would be leaving them tip money for Park Fare as we wouldn’t be going with them that night. She kept saying how sorry she was, that we would all meet up later and things would be ok. She also begged me not to leave the park. I felt sorry for her too.

I have one picture I took, Bill waiting for the Pop bus to take us back:

I can’t really tell you what exactly they did that day, but I can post the pictures.

Ok they got a good picture of the giraffe, a rhino from the front (no butt shot), the LION, the “ostrich eggs” and this:

LITTLE RED!!!! You know going through these safari pictures just makes me mad  all over again. It makes me want to drive to his house and kick him in the shin, but a 40 year old shouldn’t be that way, should they?

Hannah in her AK dress and I have no idea what line they are in:

I know they did the safari, took turns on Expedition Everest, did some things in the dinosaur area and they all rode Dinosaur. Hannah LOVED it!! She wasn’t scared at all. She was scared of POTC, but not Dinosaur?? Ok, :rotfl:.

Meanwhile back at Pop, Bill and I got some lunch and took it back to the room. I put out the “do not disturb” sign and we took it easy for the day. I tried to take a nap but was still so upset about not staying at AK with Bill, but he knew I wasn’t feeling well. I took some medicine and started feeling better. The time was getting closer to when I knew they would be coming back to the room so they could get freshened up and go to the Grand Floridian to 1900 Park Fare. I was not looking forward to them coming back.

I heard them talking outside and their door open, then Abbey knocked on the adjoining door.

Next installment…would we get into yet another argument, would we go to Park Fare, would I be well enough to go anywhere?

So sorry about AK, but I think it was a perfect storm of things--you not feeling well and Josh having woken up on the wrong side of bed. It does look like they were able to do a few things which was nice.

The pix of the kids at the end of the day were cute.

I say you go to Park Fare.

:headache:What a disappointing day. I am sorry you missed the whole day at Animal Kingdom. I hope things get better and you are able to go to Park Fare. Maybe, Abbey talks to Josh and he apologizes?? (I am hoping for this):surfweb:

This installment was a heart breaker, Tracy :sad1: and

I hope you started feeling better and that Josh stopped acting like someone who needed to be kicked in the shin.

I'm so sorry you had such a bad day.

I hope you guys made it to Park Fare!

Don't leave us hanging for too long! I don't like having a picture of sad Tracy stuck in my head. :sad2:

Ah...here's the prettiest scenery yet!
The dress is perfect, too! ~ Kathy

Bill just held my hand and told me he loved me. I kept feeling worse and asked if it would be ok for us to go back to the room. The love of my life said he would do anything to make me feel better.

I'm sniffling as I read this, Tracy. How awful for you, my dear friend! My heart aches for you.

Bill, you are a true gentleman and hopefully someday Josh will follow your good example.

Kathy

Oh Tracy I'm so sorry the day was so bad  You're so lucky to have Bill care so much about you and do whatever makes you happy

Although I think the Saints are a fantastic team too so I really won't be too upset if they won either, but my heart is with the Colts.
Any other year I would be perfectly happy if the Saints won. DH grew up watching Archie Manning play so he'd be happy. :goodvibes

 to you. I think you did the right thing by resting the room and what a love Bill is to be right there with you. :lovestruc

Tracy, I'm so sorry for both you and Bill. The first time we took the adult kids, I had no idea how long it took to smoke. Middle son and wife both smoke a lot. When we got home from that week, everyone asked me what we had done there, all I could say is "smoke, look for smoking sections, wait for them to smoke, etc". We've done 3 family trips since then and now we never try to tour together. We start together but once they have to hit that first smoke break (about 10 minutes after getting into a park), we just continue to do our thing and they are free to call us on the cell afterwards to see where we are. It's much better having them wait on us to finish a fun ride than to wait on them to finish a cigarette.

I'll have to wait for next installment but I hope he apologized and all of you went to Park Fare and had a wonderful meal.

Perfect storm was a great way to put it. I could look at pictures of those kids all day long :lovestruc.

I was sick and just wasn't putting up with anything that day. Abbey is a lot like me tries to keep everyone happy and you just can't do that.

:rotfl: Sometimes he should be kicked in the shin.

Thanks . Aww I won't kep you hanging I will post another update sometime tomorrow. I actually have the rest of my trip report already typed out complete with pictures in word :thumbsup2.

I'm sorry your AK day was ruined.
Hannah was in line for triceratops spins

Thanks for letting me know which line that was. Bill and I have never stepped foot in that area of AK>

Thank you so much for your sweet words Kathy.

Thanks Jo. I am very lucky to have Bill. We try to do things to make each other happy.

You are right about Bill being a love .

I think if we take anyone again they have to be non smokers :rotfl2:. It just drove me crazy.

I am so sorry that Josh was causing so much drama, he seems to have the me me me attitude which is too bad, he should have been thinking about the group and not just himself. Not to mention what kind of lessons are the kids learning seeing him treat his mother that way. :sad2::hug:

From what I understand Abbey stated to him almost exactly what you said. She chewed him out big time. He got the cold shoulder the rest of the day at the park from everyone.

Hey Tracy! I'm slowly trying to make the rounds around here! I'll be back to get caught up on this very special trip of yours. :goodvibes

Oh Tracey!!! I am so sad reading about your day.:hug::hug:

I can't believe he could be so selfish but I hope Abbey set him straight and the night turns around in a positive direction for everyone!

What a sweetheart that Mr. K is!!

I've been lurking and reading your TR all along. I just had to reply to this installment. First the kids are so adorable and its you can really see the magic of Disney in their eyes. Its so sweet!

Second... I think Josh has a twin... My brother. I swear they sound exactly the same. Some of the stuff you describe Josh doing is the same thing I have lived with my entire life with my brother. Their attitude is so miserable and makes everyone else miserable. Its so selfish and sad. I'm sorry you had to deal with it in Disney.

Last... I think it must be AK. We had similar experience on our April 08 trip with DH's parents. All week long we were constantly missing out on things because we always had to find a smoking area. It was so frustrating. We had a bit of tift at AK and I ended up going back to the resort. I blamed it on pregnancy hormones and being tired (I was about 2 1/2 months along) but I was really just disappointed that we were missing out on so much.

I hope your trip gets better from here on out!

Welcome Katie!! Thank you so much for reading and posting. I am so sorry your brother is like that . I never thought about smoking and smoking areas being such an issue until it happened to me and then I got to read stories from others here on the trip report. It can be very frustrating.

I let Abbey in the room and she begged me to change my mind about Park Fare, she said she would not go without me, that I had to be there to see Christian with the Step Sisters and Hannah with Cinderella. I told her I just couldn’t take anymore arguments. Bill then asked if I would go in their room and send Josh into ours. He had my laptop. He told Josh that he wanted to talk to him and it would be easier to just type it out. Even though Josh can understand him well he didn’t want Josh asking me for help if he didn’t understand a certain word. Bill also didn't want it to look like we were ganging up on him. Josh came into our room and stood behind him so he could read. Bill saved what he wrote and said I can post it. He said to please forgive any typos since he was trying to type fast:

“This trip means a lot to me. It is the only time I will be able to see Disney through the kids’ eyes. I know your mom and you like to go head to head but when you do you are going to head to head with me too cuz your mom and I are one person and it kinda hurts me when I see you two fight. I know that is normal but can you be more patient and I will make sure you will get what you need to do like smoking. It might not happen as soon as you like but it will.

When I brought your mom in my life I brought you too. I will do anything for you. I put my neck out for you for this trip cuz your mom was afraid of the possible fights. But I was able to persuade her. One last thing the reason we left is because both of you too needed to cool down. I am in the middle cuz I love both of you. Will you be more patient on the trip? Maybe you can set a schedule with your mom since she knows what we are doing for the day.”

Bill said Josh got done reading and had tears in his eyes. Bill told him he didn’t have to say anything because Bill knew he connected with him. Josh said that Mom needed to be patient too. Then Bill wanted to talk to both of us. I felt like I was going in the principal’s office after a fight on the school grounds. Bill said we needed to work out a “smoke” schedule and then Josh apologized to both of us.

Abbey was in the other room getting the kids ready for dinner. Bill and I decided to go with them. I had a surprise for Hannah; I had bought her a tiara. She went crazy over it and loved it. We had to take some pictures of her.

Those two can make me laugh no matter what mood I am in.

We were going to take the monorail to the Grand Floridian, but Hannah was giggling because Josh kissed her hand “like a prince”. So we had to take a picture of it:

She was so happy to be a “princess”, she was smiling all the time:

Abbey thought the resort was breathtaking. I checked us in and they gave us a buzzer. We had to take some pictures, first up Abbey’s:
