Have you ever felt that sometimes the same question is answered differently on different threads when posted by different people???

Maybe I can explain better...I have noticed that if someone complains that they got poor service, then others say to complain, tell a supervisor or "I think that's awful...Poor you"

and when someone else seems to complain...They are told..."I think you should let it go...It seems to have taken enough of your time and I don't know what you want for it?

Not making any sense...Here I will try again.

I posted on the Transportation board about the awful way we were treated by National Car rental in Orlando (read...I was in tears). Instead of a little sympathy, I got the ..."It sounds like it is already taking up a lot of your energy and I am not sure what you want to get in return. " which made me feel like a spoiled child being told that my feeling were invalid.

Why is it that some people get the advice of..."Don't let that go...That was horrible and others act like you are a whinning sloth...

Sorry...Personal pitty party...Thanks for the time to vent.

PhotobearSam, I remember reading your thread. I thought it was a crummy way to start off a vacation. :( Did you end up complaining to National? I personally think that you should write a letter. I know that for me, after writing the letter, it's off my mind for a while.

I posted a question once that caused great grief. My moral integrity was questioned and it was people who seem to thrive on conflict responding. On the other hand I got several pm's from people who understood what I was asking and had some great suggestions!
Ignore the comments, it's easy to sit at a computer and spew forth knowledge and opinions without an actual person in front of you. Like I am doing right now :teeth:

Having read your story on the other board, if I were you I would want, not so much an apology, although that would be nice, but an explanation of how the two charges were sent under different company names. I'm certain the CC company would have given you more leeway if they had been sent under the same name. I would hope, in fact, that it would send up some kind of flag in the system. This sounds a bit fishy to me...

Ciao,
Mort.

Photobear I agree that there is a great deal of difference to the way people and topics are treated on the different boards.
Some of the boards are very friendly and tolerant of all types of questions and people and others are definitely not.
On some boards there are people who go out of their way to take any comment, not matter how innocent it seems to the poster and turn it into something ugly.
I have also had my morals questioned, when I thought that I was only asking a simple honest question that I did not know the answer to, and wanted to have a simple honest answer in return.
I guess you get to learn who certain people are after awhile and you expect the types of answers that you get from them.
Sometimes though I wish there was less bickering going on.

It seems to me sometimes that sometimes what the poster posted is not really read. The comments that are made are really not on topic at all or assumptions are made about things that aren't even said. I really get confused especially when the comments are nasty about the assumption that that person has made. I keep wanting to scream READ the post!!!! I do agree that posts on different boards can get different replies. Also, there is sometimes a feeling of, it must of been your fault syndrome in some peoples minds as well. All I know is don't post on the Cruise board that you really didn't have a great cruise on the Disney ship. Not good, not good at all.

I am often horrified by the way a poster can be assaulted for the most innocent posts.

Often it is the " Disney police ". The people who take personal offense at anything negative said about Disney, completely ignoring the fact that if you refuse to acknowledge that even Disney can sometimes do things incorrectly, things will never change.

Then there are those that absolutely have to find that the poster is at fault for anything that went wrong. If they can believe the poster brought it on themselves, then they themselves are safe from anything similar ever happening to them.

What I find most interesting is that it seems to be only here, on the Canadian board, that we can voice our dismay about these negative responses. Personally I am far to timid to speak out anywhere else and risk being attacked.

faithinkarma that is right on. If you brought it on yourself then it won't affect them or happen to them. That happened to me but not on the DIS. When my son died I was amazed at how many people told me that I must have done something really bad for that to happen, or I did something to bring it on. Like Right..I was 23 yrs. old and wanted this child. I see this on the board all the time though and it still amazes me.

P.S. I think I like to post right now because I am coming so close to my leave date, I am so excited.

Sorry I had not answered before now but my Dad is in the Hospital awaiting heart surgery...so I've been busy.

I have not written to National yet but I will as soon as my Dad is back home...

I'm very glad I didn't post about my horrible service at Cinderella's breakfast because Id still be on fire from the flames.

Thanks for the support...I really appreciate it.:wave2:

Hope your dad's feeling better soon Sam!

What happened at CRT? I've never been but so I'm curious to know all ... the good and the bad :)

I think the only reason you go to CB is to see the characters. The food wasn't that great and it certainly wasn't timely at least in our case. My dgrdd though did enjoy seeing the Princess's and probably when I take my other dgrdd down she will want to go there.

Hmm... sounds like I can skip that one then :) Thanks Tigercat!

Food was great when we were there...but we had the worst waiter ever...Very rude.

If I wasn't with 2 people from the DIS I had just met, I would have complained but I wanted the breakfast to be a pleasant experience for the 2 DISers since it was their first time at Cindy's and I had invited them.

It takes a Canadian to worry about sounding rude by complaining of rude service...

Oh well...At least the Characters were gorgeous and nice.
