Does the Wii ever freeze up?

Tonight we were playing a game and all of a sudden the screen just froze. The music was still playing, but the remote wouldn't move anything. I couldn't turn anything off either. I tried ejecting the disc and it came out, but the picture was still frozen on the screen. Even the reset button on the console wouldn't do anything. We finally unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in. It seems to work now. We just got our Wii on Friday so I just wondered if this was common or if I did the right thing when it happened.

My son say our has frozen up every once and while. He says it is normal .

He also said that he just goes to the wii and holds the power button until it turns off and then turns it back on.

Ours has done this occasionally as well.

I am playing this Okami game and it has frozen up a few times.

I am having a terrible time with Tomb Raider - Underworld.

My Wii does that once in awhile. It also happens with my Xbox too.

Yep, happens with ours too - glad to know I'm not the only one. It's very infrequent though and usually happens when my kids have been on it for LONG periods of time. I always tell them that's a sign they need to go find something else to do. Just unplug it from the wall for a few minutes and plug it back in, and it's fine.
