Planning a trip & stayed at the BC 2x before & really liked the marketplace to get a light sandwich, morning muffin or bowl of cereal and fruit. wante to know if the Poly has a similar marketplace or what Captain Cooks is like? We would take our snacks and go sit outside at the BC before heading off to parks, we are not a big breakfast family. Do any other Deluxes have this market type offering

While we really like the YC & BC, they dont have a quick-service food place (other than the marketplace) like all the other deluxe resorts have. The other ones have "real" food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can find the menu for Captain Cooks on the Dining Menus page or on allears.net. I'm not sure if you'll like it more or less. But they do have items (not on the menus) like yogurt, muffins, chips, cookies, drinks, and other "snacky" things as well. Hope this helps!:)

We were at the GF last year & they had what I would think of as something like a cafeteria like "restaurant, you know slide trays along in a horseshoe fashion & self dispense drink machine & a cafeteria type seating arrangement. Is this similar to the Poly, I know there is nothing like this at the BC

The Poly is more similar to the GF. And they don't have the grocery type items like are available at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Besides Captin Cook's which is a good counter service location they also have Samoa Snacks which is a mini store that sells various food items like chips, drinks and other items like that.

Unless it has changed since we were there last, there was a fabulous Kona coffee bar upstairs in the lobby. They had the best coffee and lots of breakfast treats& bagels for a quick breakfast on the go. :)

Isn't that little counter the greatest thing? My dad and I had breakfast there one morning..and sat at the counter facing out at the monorail.

So is the Kona coffee bar different than Kona cafe?

It is indeed. It's a coffee bar right by the doors to the monorail. Fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee and tea are sold.

sdfabrizio, you'll find all those things you mentioned at Captain Cooks.

Thanks for all the reply's- good stuff. I was on the TIKIMAN website trying to get a feel for the size of the property & locations. How far apart are all the Kona cafes, coffee bar, Captain Cooks, all the food stuff. If I had to run out & get a coffee for the wife, whats the typical turn around time back to the long houses. Are the other places on the "way" to the monorail or MK boat?
