Does the Dis need a new forum for Blogs & Cliques?

I say yes. I counted about 15 threads on the front page of the CB that are either cliques or "all about me" blogs. I rarely look at page 2, but I just did and lo and behold....lots of cliques there too. Seems like it it is just threads of people chatting. Seems a bit congested here. That type of thing was frowned upon "back in the day".:goodvibes

Do a Search on the CB and you'll see that this dead horse has been beaten many, many, many times:lmao:

Who cares? I just ignore them and focus on what I am interested in.

I finally reached a point where I can just ignore the cliques and blogs. It wasn't easy, but I'm in a happy place with it now. I am just happy the games and exchanges were given their own place. I certainly wouldn't complain if the cliques were moved too.

Can we have a seperate forum for grumpy people too?

Pardon my ignorance. What is a clique thread? What is 'all about me' blog?

:thumbsup2 I agree - really are they hurting YOU??? as with any internet board you can CHOOSE to read a thread or ignore it :faint:

Sure, you can choose to ignore lots of things. I'm one of the people who rarely get to page 2. I'd love to get a page full of threads that are not all about people chatting. I don't mean threads about TV shows or things like that, unless of course the thread just turns into, "good morning", "good morning", etc etc etc. I don't think OP was "grumpy" either. Just making a suggestion.

I was only making a suggestion as well ...;)

Any thread I'm not interested in, I just pass right on by.. It's not that difficult at all and I'm confused by people who think it is.. :confused3 And why don't people go back beyond the first page? That's like picking up a good book and reading "only" the first page..:confused3

Or better yet, if you find nothing that interests you on the first page, start an interesting thread yourself! :santa:

Me too. I skip over them - choose not to read them, but it does get distracting scanning down the page. I don't consider the suggestion being grumpy either. Makes sense IMO, if there are a lot of continuous threads, to give them their own sub-forum.

Clique threads are thousands of pages long that serve no other purpose other than to chat with people. It's the same 10-15 people on the entire thread conversing.

Some threads turn into blogs. A member decides that, for whatever reason, an entire thread needs to be devoted to them. If you're lucky you might find out what time they have a bowel movement.;) Ok, maybe not that bad, but you get the idea.

See here is the thing you are never going to please everyone, just isn't going to happen..

I don't like to have to go from one board to another 'looking' for the threads I want to see. I want it all on one board so I don't have to hunt for them ...

so like I said you can't please everyone...some feel like me and others fell like you...

No, I don't think cliques and blogs need a new forum on the Dis. I think they fit perfectly on the COMMUNITY Board. Anyone in the Dis Community may participate in the cliques and blogs. Or not participate. No need to put them elsewhere.

My fingers don't mind scrolling past them if I choose not to partake.

I don't think anyone was saying op was grumpy... just another suggestion, be it not serious
