Back when they were building DFW, SW did not want to get involved and chose to continue to fly out of Dallas Love Field. They also signed the Wright Ammendment, saying Southwest can fly direct only to connecting states. To get to Orlando on SW you must make a connection and pay for each leg, so their flights are always significantly higher. Delta used to fly direct and had decent prices, but not anymore. The cheapest airlines for the last several years have been Air Tran and occasionally American Airlines. I go to WDW several times a year. The cheapest I've ever flown down there was about four years ago when we caught a flight for $178.00 r/t. Last year I was paying about $220.00 each time. For my flights last Sept/Oct and again in Dec, I paid about $198.00. I was able to catch Air Tran on sale a few weeks ago and got airfare for my upcoming May trip for $186.00. That's the cheapest Ive found it the last couple of years. Air Tran does charge $15.00 for the first bag and you can also pay $6.00 to choose your seats. If you go through Kayak, you still get redirected to the Air Tran site to purchase your tickets, but for some reason don't get charged the $6.00 fee to pick your seats.
