Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

Jackie, I love your decor! Gorgeous!!

I'm glad you have tentative days for WDW!!! I am deciding my Summer 2012 plans. They might involve my 16 yr old brother as well, we'll see. My parents are going to CA for their anniversary in July & to see my brother, so since I'll be babysitting him anyway, I figured we should make a trip of it! :)

Love Love Love Christmas at your house Jackie!!!

I'll be putting up my decorations next weekend and I can't wait!! Definitely love the Disney touches!!

Thank you! There has to be Disney touches at our house! It's expected. LOL!

OOOH I wonder if I can find the Holiday Wishes CD on Ebay too....that would be awesome to have playing as I bake and decorate!!

We have really enjoyed listening to it in the car on the way to school in the mornings.

Haddon and Ingrid...can't wait to see what mischief they will be causing this year!!!

Mischief is definitely the right word for those two!

Prep and Landing are fantastic and yes I have that date marked on my calendar too!!!

I flew home from class last week just so I would make it home in time to see it. It was cute!

Thanks for the compliments on my tree friends. Love yours too Jackie. I love tinkerbell and now I must have one.

Chelsea thought I was weird when I pulled Tinker Bell out and said, "Hi, Tink! It's time to take your place at the top of the tree." LOL!

I love that you put Christmas photos on your frig and I love the picture of Chelsea and Connor in their younger years. So, so cute.

Thanks! Chelsea and I had fun picking out the pictures.

No - my cats actually don't climb the tree. I adopted all three of my cats when they were all at least a year old and it really was wonderful because they were well behaved but past that kitten stage.

Ours are so mellow now, they don't even pay attention to the tree.

I did have a cat once that used to climb our tree and totally knock it down. I lost a lot of glass balls that way. :rotfl: That's why I had to eventually get a new tree. Between toddlers and cats, it fell one too many times! :rotfl:

Yeah, when my two were kittens it was a completely different story!

Awww, your house looks fabulous Jackie!!! I love getting ready for Christmas!

Thank you! I do, too! The packing up afterwards is not that much fun, though.

Jackie - your decorations are great!!
We've been decorating a bunch more today. We have another tree to put up, but we're all too tired tonight so we're lounging watching Good Luck Charlie! We got our Disney tree and village up, and I'll try to get a decent picture for you.

Thank you! I love decorating for holidays!

I have to mark the calendar for Prep and Landing - they are so cute!! Is it on Disney channel? You'd think I would know since it's on our TV most of the time!!

ABC, actually. The other Disney channel. LOL!

When I was younger I had a cat who used to sit in the lower branches of our artificial tree. It had a permanent dip in it!

I am so glad our cats don't do that!

:cool1::cool1: For Putting up Christmas decorations without drama.

I think I had the most drama free Thanskgiving and decorating I have ever had.

Us, too!

The tree is up and so is the lights and garland but the ornaments are still waitng to be put on. Hopefully there will be a night this week that will get done.

Trying to sort through the other items that have been in deep storage for a while.

So, did you get it decorated? This past week has been as crazy as it gets here with school, classes, and such.

Your house looks beautiful and so very festive!
I'm trying to resist the urge to decorate my house now.....

Thank you! You could put out a few decorations to make things look festive!

Oh goodness, don't you love the way I just took over your thread and invited everyone to share their trees?

I thought it was a splendid idea! :goodvibes

Oh the Christmas decorations and trees are so lovely! I really need to get on doing that! I helped the family in Indiana do it over the weekend, now I need to do my own!:santa: I love the idea of the photos on the fridge! Super cute!

Thank you, Stace! I love pulling out the Christmas decorations every year.

Beautiful tree Jackie...I love the Disney touches. Love yours too Mary Ellen!

Ours won't be going up for another week or so, but I will post it here once it does - what a great idea. Can't wait to see everyone else's.

Hi, Trish! Thank you!

What a great idea about hanging up old Christmas photos on the fridge! (And I noticed that Tybee magnet too!;) )

Thank you! It was fun to do it -- a new idea for us.

Love the Fox theatre and Gone with the Wind billing photo in your living room! Perfect for a Charleston Princess, no? ;)

Well, GWTW is my favorite movie. :goodvibes

Oh....and I would love to hear the back story on your elves. Sounds like you were well ahead of the Elf on the Shelf trend!

They are Magic Elves and have been coming for quite a few years. It's funny how the kids, no matter how old they are, still love when they arrive and wreak havoc all month long.

The tree looks great!!!!!!

Thank you, Kat!

Your tree is beautiful!
I love your Tink tree topper.
This is making me want to plan a Disney Christmas trip.

Thank you! Oh, you cannot imagine how much I have wanted a Christmas trip lately!

I am SO in love with peppermint mocha's from Starbucks! I bought International Delight's Peppermint Mocha creamer the other day and it is to die for!!:cloud9:

Ugh, I read this week and meant to buy some at the grocery store yesterday. Totally forgot. Oh well, I will put it on the list for next week.

Love that you had such nice weather in GA for your decorating! We got to about 64 here in Maryland. And your house turned out beautiful as always! You'll always be one of the best house decorating DIS friends in my book! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I wish it was still as warm here, but it has gotten cold.

I think that Mickey topper is so cute! I would love to have one, but my antenna disappears when I turn off the car! I noticed the picture of the Fox theater in Atlanta where the premiere of GWTW was held, pretty cool!:thumbsup2

Thank you! I will be so sad if our next car doesn't have an antenna.

I probably won't put up decorations for a couple of weeks. Since it's just the two of us there is no rush to get things out. I haven't had the Christmas mood hit me yet.

My Christmas mood comes and goes -- I am actually glad we decorated when we did since I haven't been very motivated since then.

No tree for me this year. I'll be at Jill's for Christmas, and then we'll be in WDW until after the New Year festivities. When I come home, I'll be going straight back to work, so I made the executive decision just not to pull all the stuff out this year. The girls will only be here one time in December, anyway, and the boys don't care one way or the other about the tree, so I am safe. As long as there is food, the boys are good, and as long as there are presents, the girls are good. :santa:

You have all those great pictures from Disney when you need a Christmas decorating fix. :thumbsup2

I did put the Christmas door hanging of Pooh and the gang on the driveway door. I'm bringing out my big Caroler Mickey, and he will sit in the middle of the table to bring Disney Christmas delight to all who enter. I'll wrap the gifts and light some scented candles for atmosphere, and that's about as Christmasy as we're getting this year.

Sounds perfect! Not to mention you will be headed to WDW which has the BEST decorations of all!

Your house looks great! I will enjoy looking at the trees of our DIS friends until we leave, and then I will be saturated with Christmas when we get to WDW.

Thank you! Oh, yes, nobody does Christmas like Disney!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but Drew is. For one of his gifts, (I get small things and money for him) I'll have to give him some of that peppermint mocha creamer Roxychica was talking about. He would like that, so thanks for the gift idea. :thumbsup2

It does sound yummy, doesn't it?

Your decorations are beautiful Jackie! Wanna come do my house? I haven't even started yet and I am normally the weirdo who has stuff up before Thanksgiving. I don't know what my problem is. :confused3

I love the silver and glitter too. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Have you decorated yet? I am glad we did it the week I was off, otherwise, we would still be undecorated.

I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Did you try any new recipes this year? You always seem to come up with good stuff from the kitchen.

I did try a new corn recipe that was okay. I am always on the quest for the perfect corn recipe and just haven't found it yet. I made pumpkin pancakes for the first time this year for us to eat while we watched the parade. Those turned out really good!

Love your decorations!! The Disney ornaments are too cute!

Thank you!

My favorite seasonal Starbucks drink is the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate :cloud9:, but the Peppermint Mocha sounds good too!

The Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate sounds yummy, too! I need to try it!

I love the tree Jackie! The Disney touches are my favorite part and I spy a few that we own as well. :) The photo of Connor and Chelsea on your mantle when they were little is ADORABLE!!!

Thank you! It's hard to wrap my mind around how much they have grown in the last few years.

Your house is so festive and cute, Jackie! Great job! I love that you dug out the old Christmas photos...how fun! Your new Christmas Mickey antenna topper is adorable too!!! :goodvibes

Thank you! Both the pictures and the antenna topper make me smile every time I see them.

Okay so I finally got caught up on the holiday updates here! Well, So I missed your "Happy Thanksgiving" so I'll say it now! and I loved looking at your tree and of course Mary Ellen's too!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you, too!

I also forgot to say how sweet and nostalgic your old christmas photos on the fridge are, love the magnets are also red and green... :)

Thanks! It was fun to do the fridge and you know I had to color coordinate the magnets. LOL!

We came home Saturday evening, and all day Sunday I cleaned cleaned cleaned, and decorated SOME of my house... I just love doing it, and it was my incentive b/c I wouldn't do it unless the house was clean!!! SO it also helped me from feeling the sway of the boat if I kept moving that whole time! We are getting our tree this weekend, and I am getting my cookie baking schedule in place too! We are going to start our gingerbread house this weekend as well. OH, and did I mention I have to oversee an entrance exam session for 600 8th graders on Saturday?? :faint: Shoot, if you didn't drink all the wine at Thanksgiving, send me some!!!! LOL!!!

You do sound like you need some wine! I am wiped out just reading about it all! How did the entrance exams go?

Okay, I totally need pictures of the gingerbread house! I want us to do one this year, and I need some ideas.

:rotfl2: I love this! Very good idea to double-check before booking though! :goodvibes I cannot wait to see your chair with the Creepy Clown Chair. Hopefully his brother will someday return too.

Well, I have changed resort plans once again. Surprised? :rotfl2:

Love your Christmas decor! We are going to start with our tomorrow, I can't wait! I think I might have to copy your idea of a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha as well. :scratchin

Thank you! I have been thoroughly enjoying all of your NYC at Christmas pics! You have been having so much fun!

Jackie, your decorations are beautiful, as always! I really love the idea of putting pictures on the fridge of Christmases past. Very cute idea.

I have decorated, just haven't gotten pictures taken. I have no energy!

Thank you! I love your newest ornament! :goodvibes Next year you will be able to indulge in all of the Baby's First Christmas ornaments out there!

We have found that (Keeley's) Kyle has a irrational fear of clowns. He was looking at our DVC members book and saw the Boardwalk pool, took a look at George and said I hope we NEVER stay there!!!! This ginormous guy just had a college call him last night from S. Carolina asking him to come and wrestle for them and he's afraid of clowns....:confused3
I guess we can't help what we are afraid of!

:lmao: See, that's why I had to ask Charles!

George??!? Is that the name of the clown...that makes him even more creepy!! Not the biggest fan of the clown pool (it is an IT thing), but I love the BW so I deal LOL!

The Boardwalk is such a pretty resort!

Hi Jackie! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Your tree & other decorations look great. We'll be getting our tree next weekend. We got to enjoy our local Christmas parade last night & we'll be at our little town's holiday celebration this evening. :santa:

I was disappointed when I couldn't find Prep & Landing on the tv schedule this year. But was very excited to see the sequel & to find Prep & Landing on DVD Friday night!! Zach loves Prep & Landing so we're all excited to see Naught vs. Nice. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Amy! Yes, watching Naughty vs. Nice was quite the family event at our house.

Thank you, Katie! You should make a trip of it! :thumbsup2

Notice anything new in my signature? :rolleyes1

I found myself making a reservation at 2:00 in the morning -- I'll blame it on the full moon and a certain pin code that was sent by Disney. (I was able to access it online instead of calling which was super cool and way too easy. ;))

However, if you have been around my PTRs for awhile, then you know that one thing you can expect is resort changes.

True to form, our reservation is not at the Boardwalk!

More on that later in the full-fledged update.

I just wanted to share a little of my excitement right now. ;)

Yippee!! :yay: So great to see that ticker. Congratulations. 2am? Well, I guess when the urge strikes, the urge strikes.

Can't wait to hear more about your plans! :goodvibes

Congrats on booking your trip, your preliminary trip, shall we say! :rolleyes1
popcorn::

I did notice the ticker before I read your update. Every time I see your posts, I look for a new ticker :) (And by the way, I wish I could "like" it!)

Congrats on the trip. Can't wait to hear planning details!

I am with Anita on this one, change your resort but DON'T change the dates!!! :yay: :yay: We get to be in Disney together!!!! :yay: :yay:

Thank you! I will be so sad if our next car doesn't have an antenna.

I have just suffered that fate. I got a new car and I do not have a regular antenae. I have one of those thick ones like I had for my Onstar. I am going to have to think of something to rig up my antenae bopper. :lmao:

Oh dear I wonder where you will stay??? Enquiring minds want to know.:rotfl2:

ETA- we have strange things going on again. I saw HD post but yet mine posted before hers.

:yay: Congratulations on the new ticker!!!

When do we get the current details? I say current, because of course, we know that the resort choice is subject to change.

I'm going to guess Wilderness Lodge. No good reason. Although I think you should stay at AKL given your love of giraffes.

Anybody brave enough to venture a guess on the number of changes?

All I know is if you change your date it's looking like you might be in big trouble with a mob of DIStown gals, so you better be sure that part stays the same.

Love the new ticker!! YAYAY for booking!! Can't wait to hear more!! :cool1:

I DID see the new ticker before I saw you post WHAOOOO those pin codes really do inspire some spur of the moment decisions, don't they? LOVE THEM!

and I am jealous that your fridge has room for pictures. mine is full of magnets, appointments and school work that is due before Christmas :sad2:

Yay for a ticker! That always makes it official!

Can't wait to hear the details on the resort. I'm wondering about the GF too???? Did you finally take that plunge? I'm guessing GF or back to AKL.

Yay for a new ticker!!! How cool that you were able to book the pin code online!! (And yay for someone else being a notorious resort changer!)
