Oh I am looking forward to this! I think I've only read one TR from POR so it will be very interesting to learn some new things. It looks gorgeous! We stayed at a moderate for the first time this year and I think they are fabulous! To me, you get a lot of bang for your buck as compared to the deluxes.

I love POR, too -- it is so pretty, and the kids' memories of it are hazy at this point, so it will be almost like a brand-new resort for them.

I am definitely looking forward to the fireworks -- the MK and Epcot ones are both must-dos for us. I am thinking the MK ones on the third and the Epcot ones on the Fourth.

As of now, our plan is to fly down the day after church camp, which will be June 23rd. Jill, John, and Brooklynn will fly back on July 1st, but if I have the money, Brooklynn and I will stay on until the 5th. Our annual passes run out the 2nd, I think, so we'd either have to renew our passes, add regular park tickets, or just do some non-park things, like extra DTD time, resort hopping, maybe see a movie, try out a mini-golf course, etc. I don't know how much, if any of that, is going to happen, but that is the penciled in plan as of now, so Brooklynn and I are 'maybes' for 4th of July fireworks.

If we stay, it would be our longest trip ever at 13 days. I kind of want to do it for research purposes. I've always said that even at 10-11 days, we left things undone, and it was still hard to leave. I'm wondering if just a few more days would convince me that two weeks really is ample time to get plenty of play time and relaxation time and be ready to face going home without being sad.

I truly think you need to stay those extra days for research. I would be super excited if that works out for you to stay over the Fourth. Chelsea would be more than happy to help entertain Brooklyn!

I really like the new rooms -- it was between POR and POFQ, but since we have stayed at French Quarter twice, it was time for POR to get some love.

Didn't think Disney was going to happen for me this coming year, but I was able to "sneak" in a little side trip. Chris and I were making travel plans and I knew he wanted to go to some other places besides Florida this coming year. Can you imagine? I suggested California. I told him we couldn't go to CA without stopping at DL (of course this was after the flights were already booked)..... So, we'll be spending 3 days there. I'm a happy girl!

Hurray for Disneyland! That will be so much fun! I really want to take the kids some time! They would both love it out there!

Do it more than once to look like you really want to go, but the rooms are just too much. LOL! That's what I did unknowingly.

We have always been very pleased with our moderate stays -- while we would love to be able to afford to stay at deluxes, we almost always end up at a moderate -- it's hard to argue with the price even without pin codes.

Okay, I have been up to my eyeballs in cookie dough and holiday stuff this weekend so I missed completely your update!!!
YAY!!! This looks fantastic! I am trying to sort out my location for the first five nights of our trip there, I was thinking POR as well! B/C I thought that it would be fun to try something with a neat theme.. that, or WL... It depends on the villa resort we get for the back end of the trip! We are going to have a great time!!! Let the planning begin! Reservations for dining coming up!!! Yippee!!!

OH, and we did MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th, and then the 5th we went back to MK in the am and it was DEAD! So that is our plan for certain.. SHHHHHH!!! LOL!

Yay for booking your trip I have seen the pictures of the new rooms and like the decor too. Have never stayed (at either) of the Orleans resorts although in October for some reason...I think we were going to DTD from HS or something and did the "we will take the first bus that comes along" game and that is where we ended up. Did a little walking around...what a pretty resort

That tricky Disney!!! They play a good game. I think we all have fallen into that trap before. I always fall for those Disney commericals. They make me want to hop online and just book a trip! Congrats on having yours booked Jackie.

I loveeeee the look of POR, that's where our honeymoon would be if we weren't renting points! The whole resort just looks so peaceful...I'm so happy you guys have something planned! $140 a night for mods during July...DEFINITELY well played Disney!
