Does going to often ruin the magic???

Well lets be honesy, anything over done can become unexciting. If you eat you favorite food EVERY DAY you'll be sick of it in no time. I tend to go to Disney every 2 or 3 years so the magic never dies for me. But some of you have mentioned going 3 to 5 times a YEAR??? I almost feel like a traitor for saying this but I wouldn't WANT to go that often because I think I would lose the magic. Again ... anything can be overdone. How much is too much is personal ... 3 to 5 times a year is too much for me. A week or two every two or 3 years sounds perfect to me. Gives you enough time to forget a little and enough time for Disney to change and add a few things.

PLUS My wife enjoys Disney (We're going back in less then 3 weeks) but if SHE had her way we'd go every 5 to 10 years!!

Nope, not at all. I love going to the parks. And hopefully in May I will be moving down to FL, and be able to go more often.

We go 3 to 4 times a year. When the kids were small we could only manage once a year. Now that we're on our own we go as often as possible. I find something new all the time. Going to often ruin the magic....not for me....:cutie:

NO WAY!
Plus now that our DS is getting older, watching everything through his eyes is such a joy! He'll be taking his 5th ( !!!!!) trip in just over 2 weeks, and he'll be celebrating 14 months while we're there!

I worried about the same thing because we just bought APs and will be going several times this coming year. I'm glad to hear it doesn't get old!

We are there almost every weekend and stay onsite approx. 4 times/year. It never gets old..in fact I think it's better. We get to take our time and not miss the little things that make WDW so great ! :goodvibes

ARE YOU KIDDING! I think it actually gets better, we go to the parks just about weekly, and we are amazed every time! the magic is always there and after all this time we still see things that we never saw before. I am blessed to be able to live in Celebration and visit the parks like as often as we do.

1) Before our Florida house, we went once per year.
2) With our second house, we have Seasonal Passes.
3) Yes, frequency does diminish the magic.
4) But, you notice more and appreciate things more (both good and bad).
5) There is nothing like your First Time at anything, including WDW.
6) But, it is still good.

We went 5 times from Sept 2006 to Oct 2007, but then, we DATED there!

Due to job changes and moving(for me in late 2007), we have only gone 1 weekend this year. Our First Anniversary celebration is in 29 days and we get to stay 8 days!

I have been about 25 times...mostly 5 days, and DH has been about 15.

It does NOT get old! That's probably why we each had DVC before we met!

OKW, here we come!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was just there in September and I'm headed back on Saturday. Judging from my excitement level right now, I'm not burned out on the magic at all! I can't wait to get there!! (and then I saw those AP holder rates for February and now I want to go AGAIN!!)

We just got back a week ago but I am going to attempt to try to talk my DH into going back very soon. He is worried we will get tired of going and ruin the magic:wizard: . What do all of you think??????

I think the best thing about going often is that you can relax the pace a little and take the time to really experience the magic! You can take in all the little things that you might otherwise miss when you're trying to fit everything in. We go often because my sister works there and the magic is still there.

I would love to go every day of the year! Except I have to work. Our family has never tired of WDW! Maybe after our fifth time in February we will be tired of it, but I doubt it! Maybe we should get jobs down there so we could enjoy it everyday! The magic never stops for us!

We never get tired of it. In fact I wish we can go more than once a year. I guess ill have to buy more DVC points!

We went for 10 days in June just came back from 5 days and plan on going back in January for 5 days and my guys asked if they could not come in January....  Since I won the trip I am trying to find 3 friends to go but not having any luck, I honestly won't mind spending 5 days at the Poly all by myself.....:woohoo:

Can I be your friend?

I'm taking my second trip this year in just over 4 weeks :woohoo: -- it'll be my 6th trip in as many years. It's still magical to me! :pixiedust:

Not really.
The thing I love about disney is that there are so many different ways I can vacation there.
Some times Dh & I just want a break from the stress of rl. We go for maybe a long weekend. We don't do commando and if we don't ride Soarin' 5X's it's cool.
Other times it's about the kids.. we'll hit the water parks and pool, we'll stay up late and run, run, run.
Last May I went with a couple of girlfriends. We did the spa at the Dolphin, ate a lot of desserts (why are we woman always on diets? ) and had a great time going through the shops.

Sure we love going other places but disney still keeps bringing us back.

After just coming back last week, i can't imagine going next year. I think i'm going to go on the every 3 year plan. It'll keep it special and allow us to also vacation elsewhere.

Haven't read all of the previous posts so forgive me if I am repeating things that have already been said.

It depends. We have been going 2-3 times a year since 2000 and it is still magical, sometimes even more so. Our oldest just turned 7 and his first trip (not counting his in utero trip, lol) was at 10 months old. We usually have a trip at some sort of planning stage at all times, most of the time before we even leave WDW we are talking about when to make the next trip. When we are home our oldest will ask us how many days until the next trip. One of the luxuries of being able to go so often is not feeling like you have to hit every attraction on your "want to do" list and being able to slow down and take in all of the little extras without feeling like you are missing the big ticket attractions.

We were there for a week Last October, back for a week in May and will be there for a week in December with another trip being tentatively planned for next April or May.

We have not lost the magic yet. We made our first trip as a family when DD was three in 2002 and loved it so much but planned to go every other year. We missed Disney so much during our years off we began vacationing there every year and now since last March we have been AP holders for the first time. I was afraid that having an AP and going more often Disney might loose it's magic but it has not. We went labor day weekend and I was afraid it might be happening because I was just not as excited before the trip. However when we got on the road that evening it all came back. It was our first time arriving at night and when we drove under that lighted Disney World sign I felt all the excitment coming back. We have two more trips planned one in December and one in March before our AP's run out. It has been three months since our labor day trip and I am really getting the Disney fever.

We have talked about to save some money going somewhere else next summer for our weeks vacation and I thought I would be okay at first but now I don't know if I will be able to stand it. We have been 9 times 5 of those for a week and still have not seen and done everything we want to do.

We are also frequent visitors to WDW and I'm excited because I've got 3 trips in 12 months, a 7 day, a 9 day and an 8 day. That's 24 days at WDW this year! :cool1: :cool1: It's a different experience every visit. We have started to be able to try out different tours and other activities and we are significantly less commando. We've also begun to invite family/friends so it's always a "new" experience for us being able to share the magic our love of Disney with others who appreciate it! My BFF had a great time this past Aug. DH and I love the holidays at WDW and this is just the two of us going, with a couple of "new" things planned and our friends are joining us in 8/09. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of WDW. There is just something about it!
