Just curious to see if any one flys into another airport the day before the cruise.
There seem to be better deals flying into West Palm, but it looks like a haul to the Port from there.

We flew into Tampa once and stayed at the airport hotel (Hilton?). It was about a 1.5 hour drive I think to the port. It wasn't that inconvenient, especially for the money we saved. Although whenever I compared fares since then the prices are usually close at both airports:firefight

I often combine a DCL cruise with a visit to an aunt in Clearwater....so I often fly into Tampa and fly out of MCO. I drive from Clearwater to the port after the visit and then cruise and fly home from MCO.

Most of the time the prices are better but if I was doing cruise only with no visit I would book in and out of MCO for the convenience.

We have flown into Melbourne also. It was an easy drive and seemed closer to me. It was cheaper at the time to fly in there and out of MCO so we did it that way.

We considered flying into Sanford when there was an airline flying between Gary, Indiana and Sanford. Happy Limo said they could pick us up there, and I don't think it's too much farther. But the airline (I think it was Pan Am) stopped offering flights before we could try it.

Hello, I live in Melbourne...nice little drive from our airport to PC...but you'll have to get lucky in the rates as only Delta flies and pretty much you will have to switch planes in Atlanta unless you are lucky to grab a flight that just stops in Atlanta.

As far as Tampa--it is 2 and a half hours from my house (about 35 minutes from the port) to my in-laws house in Tampa. Granted...I would guess the travel distance closer to 2 hours as traffic when you get into Orlando can be a pain. The best route is to hop onto 417 to get to 528, but that is right at WDW and congestion is likely.

I think MCO, if you can get your desired rates, is your best bet!
