Does EMH make a difference?

Do you think EMH really matters? I have to decide which day to go to Animal Kingdom and which day to go to Disney Studios. If I go to Disney Studios on 6/2 its an EMH at night. We are staying on property but with 2 toddlers we plan on being back to the resort by late afternoon. That leaves me going to Animal Kingdom on a morning EMH. We probably could get there by 8 but it may be a little later than 8 before we can make it to the park. So I could go to AK on an EMH morning and then Disney Studios on a regular day or go to AK on a regular day and Disney Studios on an EMH evening. What would you do? Am I making too big of a deal out of this?

Parks with EMH tend to be busier. There are a good portion of people who like morning EMH because of the free hour, but by 11 am, that park is usually one of the busiest of the day so I avoid it.

Instead, we hit non EMH parks at rope drop and if we do hit a park that has EMH, we truly view it as extra.

Meaning, we would arrive at HS by 8:30 am and get our fill, then maybe hop to Epcot until 9 pm when it closes. Then, if MK has EMH till say 11:30, maybe we hop maybe we don't, but we certainly factor it in to our plans. It is truly EXTRA hours to us.

Alot of people have success with morning EMH, so I am not saying it can't work. I just prefer to start an hour later in a more or the most recommended park to deal with the lowest possible crowds throughout the day.

I just came back from 6 days and we did AK with morning EMH. My suggestion t you would be to plan the AK day correctly for your kids - here is what i would do:

9am arrival

- Safari FP+ at 9:05
- Boneyard play and carousel at 10am
- Finding Nemo at 11am
- Lunch at noon
- Flights of Wonder after lunch

- FP+ for M&G

HS day with kids - I dont believe EMH in the evening will have an impact in the morning.

our HS day looked like this:

- 9:00am arrival
- 9:15-9:45am character pics
- 10:10 - little mermaid
- 10:30 - Disney Junior
- 11:00 - Indiana Jones
- 12:00 - Big Movie ride
- 12:45 - my 4yr old son is big enough to do Star Wars ride with FP+
- 1:30pm - lunch
- 3:00pm Beauty and the beast

at 4pm - both 2.5 and 4.5 were so tired tha we went back to the hotel.

as far as morning EMH - with 2 small kids and 2 strollers and 90F heat - I will gladly push the stroller at 8am to 9:00am than later even if the crowds are bigger later during the day. Remember that crowds are subjective --- sure the big role coasters might have longer wait times - but Disney Junior or Little Mermaid or Beauty or Indiana - you will find a spot with toddlers.

With little kids I would do Animal Kingdom on a normal day and DHS on a day with EMH at night.

You will want to hit the most popular attractions at Animal Kingdom with your kids (Safari, Lion King, Nemo etc).

But, you are unlikely want the most popular/busiest rides in DHS. If they want to do Toystory Mania then hit it at rope drop and/or get a FP+ for it.
