Does DVC offer discounted points to DVC members?

I was curious if Disney offered discounted points for stays booked less than 30 days in advance?

I'm looking into becoming a DVC owner and wanted to compare Disney to other timeshares.

I have a friend who owners timeshare interest through Sunterra. He claims that if he books a stay less than 30 days out that Sunterra only charges him 25% of the original listed points. It is 50% for 30-60 days out.

Disney could offer this to DVC owners for non-peak times when occupancy is low.

No. Many owners make their reservations 11 months out or 7 months out. Anything not occupied by DVC members goes into rental inventory to CRO.

They never discount points themselves at DVC resorts. They do offer a discount on cash reservations at DVC resorts.
