Does DTD do anything special on NYE?

We (DM, DD, me (16), and DB (11) ) have never been on new years eve, but will be there for just that night and Jan 1st! We'll be driving back to Palm Beach County (3 hours south of WDW) from North Carolina and were planning on going to DTD for NYE. Does DTD have special fireworks or anything on that night, or would we be better off just watching either the epcot fireworks from the boardwalk or MK fireworks from the poly beach? This was a last minute thing, so we won't be going into a park NYE. So, any suggestions welcome....and which would you do? Thanks!

Pleasue Island has a New Years Eve Party, but it is a special ticketed event. They are going to be doing fireworks (which in years past have been a pretty good display). Obviously you will be able to see them even without the ticket to the actual party. They are not as extravegant as the theme parks, but also keep in mind the hotels tend to be on security lockdown on NYE. Meaning, if you aren't staying there, or you don't have an ADR for a meal, they will not let you drive in and park.
