Are hair and makeup services still offered by disney or must you look for someone outside of disney? princess:

disney used to have a costemetology department, but they closed it down last year. most of the outside vendors used to work for that department, and if anything, now that they work for themselves they tend to charge less than disney were charging

they do now have the bibbity bobbity boutique for hair and make up at downtown Disney but you need a ressie to get in...its for kids and adults but very expensive!!!!

Being perfectly honest about the BBBoutique in Downtown Disney - my friend just went there for Misckey's Not So Scary Party - she was going as Cinderella to the party and it was cute but they only have 3 set styles that they work to and their ability to apply make-up is OK but not of a cosmetology standard that I would require for my wedding. They are also using the products that are made for children, there is no application of foundation or any face powder except blush. I really wouldn't recommend it for a bride - perhaps flower girls, if you like the set hairstyles they offer.

I agree you would be better of using a vendor for cosmetology services! There are several recommended vendors on the boards here!

My wedding planner recommended Beaute Speciale and Lisa Penne. She said they both used to work for Disney's Cosmotology Dept. but now have created their own businesses. She said they do some of the best work. I just booked Ana with Beaute Speciale. :sunny:

I've booked the salon inside the main lobby of the GF - Ivy Trellis is the name of it. They do hair and makeup only. If you want nails and other services, you go to the GF spa. I think Ivy Trellis is technically not run by Disney but it's convenient and I'm going to be way too hyper on my wedding day to sit in my room while 1 person does hair for 5 of us!!! At Ivy Trellis they'll do 2 at a time and we get out of the room.

I have to say - for me a part of the fun of a DIsney wedding is getting to walk around with my veil and then my dress and get some extra attention! :) :bride: :wave2:

How much are the disney salons charging for hair and makeup services? princess:

We used the GF salon...back in May it was 50 for bridesmaid hair, 75 for the bride, and 50 for make up...(a little much for makeup in my book) very convenient and the girls were wonderful....also FL Residents get 10% off (doesn’t help with most of you all but if you have one person in the whole party the total group gets it)........

I used Ivy Trellis for hair....to begin with. No they are not run by Disney. When the lady to do make up showed up at my room (when it was still Disney cosmo), she looked at my hair and REDID it for me for FREE. She wasn't happy with the job that Ivy Trellis did. She was tipped very nicely. I was ok with Ivy Trellis until this lady fixed my hair. Then I was super happy with my hair. I would use one of the Disney (now not Disney) cosmo people recommended on the board.
