This brought tears to my eyes! WOW that is truly amazing. Thank the good Lord your son is ok and you were treated like royalty to boot....how amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Making money IS why companies exist. They don't exist to create jobs or to do good things for people. Those are good side effects of the money making process. They have a duty to make a profit for their owners (shareholders).

Fair Winds.

Yes you are correct. But all people and organizations (in the US) have a moral and many times legal obiligation for the well being of any person who occupies thier property. Some companies just don't need to be reminded in a court of law. Others have to be forced to meet their obligations through a process known as TORT.

Wow! Go Disney! I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, but it's nice to know Disney's 1st class!

I'm glad to hear your story. Febrile seizures are very scary for a parent, or anyone else who cares about children. It's good to hear that Disney gave you good medical care and did the right thing.

Ignore the morons. Some people are just wired that way.

I normally don't get involved with the negative...but, the comment below was a cruel comment to make....If you don't have children you couldn't possibly understand and shouldn't voice an opinion and if you don have children, Shame on You! Children come first and the near death of anyone should be enough to show some compassion. This seems to be the problem with the world today, to many I's and not enough We's....
Again, as I said in another post, i am very glas your child is healthy and well.:thumbsup2

I know it is upsetting but you have to understand that there are some people who when they see a person on the side of the road bleeding, they just drive by and say, hey that is an EMS job and just let the person bleed to death. Instead of stopping and putting their hand over the wound and applying direct pressure and saving that victims life. They just can't be bothered to get involved and they don't want to be inconvenienced by someone else getting involved.
Remember the footage from the world trade center bombing? How it interrupted television viewing. I suppose SOME people would have been inconvenienced by some poor person getting smashed by the world trade center.
But also remember the footage of the steel workers running toward the world trade center to help. It wasn't their job, they didn't get paid for it. It was their duty to help. This is just me but that is the kind of person I would hope to be. Not some one who is INCONVENIENCED by others misfortune but some one who steps up to help resolve that misfortune.

I don't usually want to get into the middle of these things, but I had a few things to add:

Jenn DID say that she'd never heard of trip insurance before. If nothing else, her post helps people realize that they should find out about this, and not just worry about getting $5/point back in case they cancel, but really make sure that they have enough medical coverage.

Yes, redocking probably cost DCL money, but I doubt the other passengers were inconvenienced. I don't think it matters much whether you cruise for 5 hours or 10 hours at night to get to the next port.

It wasn't nearly so serious, but we had an episode at the Disneyland Hotel a few years ago. My son had a fall in the room, and cut his head seriously enough so I thought he'd need stitches. I called the lobby for a bandage and was told that they'd send the nurse right up. A registered nurse on staff at the hotel!! She did have to send us to the ER, but when I told her we had an HMO for health insurance, she handed me an information sheet with directions to the nearest ER *that accepted our insurance.* Talk about service!

We also had an experience at BCV where my two boys (both with autism and not the best communicators) went out the door in opposite directions and I lost track of both of them. I swear, within 60 seconds of calling security, every CM in the complex knew what they looked like. We had them back within 5 minutes.

As an earlier poster said, THAT's why we go to (and own at) Disney.

Wishing Jenn and her son the best.

I'm glad your son is ok!

What a wonderful story about a wonderful company!

... so please don't think I'm ignoring any kind postings after this... but I wanted to share with everyone why I'm done with the disboards.

After this last post by 'poggs,' I refuse to be being tormented by terrible, mean, rude "human beings." This is what "poggs" posted about this story to me:

I cannot read these posts anymore as I'm sitting here in tears that this is how mean people can be when I had only wanted to share our wonderful experience with Disney. I will not be tormented anymore... so I am now signing off these boards.

Everybody has an opinion. Just because someone doesn't agree with your decisions, you shouldn't let it affect you. It's a shame that you would give up wonderful place to hang out, (the DIS) just because you are sensative to other peoples opinions.

Hope you come back.

Agree ::yes::

I'm really glad you shared this beautiful and touching story. I hadn't seen "the other boards" with this post, as some of us don't read ALL the boards. Thank you and I'm glad things ended having a much happier ending experience. For those negative posters...bah humbug... this is unfortunately the worst in humanity. Sharing and touching us is the best.
