Does Disney always have AP discounts

We are looking to go 3rd week of October. I have a 30% off pin for Deluxes for Monday - Thursday nights.

However, my friend, who I are rooming with, will have an AP.

Historically, AP discounts for Oct. have come out in August.

Therefore:

1) Can I count on there being an AP discount?
2) If there is a discount, will it be 40% for deluxe resorts
3) If there is a discount, will it be for all deluxe resorts or only specific resorts

Or should I not bet on a discount and be surprised when there is one offered.

Thanks.

I don't know the precise answers to your question, but I do know that you can't count on anything with Disney.

We were hoping for 40% off deluxes with AP discount in early June and a discount did come out, but it was for 35% (we already had 30%). We figured - OK, so at least it is better than the 30%. We called the very day the AP discounts came out and there was NO availability for a lot of the resorts. The resort we already had booked was available, but the only rooms that were available were in a higher-priced category so that the price came out to be *more* than what we were already paying with our discount. Or club level, which is never happening on our budget. It was very disappointing to say the least.

So, I wouldn't count on anything. I assume you are rooming together? I would book your room under the current pin you have. You can always cancel and rebook up until 24 hours before (for room-only reservations) or 45 days before for packages without penalty. This way you can get a room secured and if a better offer comes along, change it to the AP discount.

Thank you. I think we are starting to see the demise of discounts. Back in the day, there were never discounts unless you belong to the Disney Vacation Club, etc. So, I think we are seeing the lower discounts as well as less rooms available for those discounts.
