Does City Hall open @ 7:30am when DL rope drop is 8am?

hi fellow Disney lovers!

We will be at DL for just one day on Monday, 6/8. Based on historical calendars, I expect that opening time for DL that day will be 8am, which would lead me to believe that turnstiles will open at 7:30am.

We are planning on being there at 7:30 am. I am getting a Photo Pass + and we will need to get some birthday buttons and Happy Anniversary buttons at City Hall.

Does City Hall open when the turnstiles open? Does anyone know if the Kodak photo shop will be open at that time, too?

We will be staying Sunday night only at the BW Plus Pavilions on Katella and will be coming over from the Toy Story lot.

Generally, if the park opens at 8am, there is no rope drop and turnstiles open at 8am. City Hall will be open when the turnstiles are open.

Just for reference, it is usually faster to get buttons at the Information board at the Hub.

Well if DL opens later than 8am, I still have the same question.

If the park opens at 9am, turnstiles open at 830, and so does City Hall. If the park opens at 10am, turnstiles open at 930 as does City Hall.

To answer the question about the Photo Shop, I've found it to be hit or miss on whether it opens with the turnstiles or rope drops. Sometimes I've gone in right after the turnstiles opened and been able to take care of whatever I needed, but other times haven been told they don't open until rope drop.

When there is Magic Morning, like Saturday, there is usually a rope drop for the 8 am opening (Or at least it has been for the last few Saturday mornings). If that is the case, then the city hall is open. We utilized this yesterday and there was no line of any kind.

You can also get buttons at the ticket booths and any of the shops. There is a little shop all the way to the left of the DL turnstiles that is half in and half out of the park. You can pick up your buttons there before you go through the turnstiles.

hmm. We are getting to our hotel at night. We plan on exchanging our vouchers for tickets that night (we'll actually enter the parks the next morning), can I get a "1st Visit" button from the ticket booth, the night before, when we do the voucher/ticket exchange?

Yes. We got ours at the ticket booth last October.

I don't see why not. We have gotten birthday buttons from the ticket booth before.

Ok, so I just called Disneyland. And they said that in terms of getting celebration buttons like birthday or anniversary buttons, you can get them at 3 locations:

1. ticket booth
2. City Hall
3. guest relations kiosk - at end of Main Street near the wait times tip board. There should be a cast member there who will have buttons. Just ask him or her and he/she will help you.

I also asked them about the Photo shop at the end of Main Street...if regular DL park opening is 8am and there's no Magic Morning and they open the turn stiles at 7:30 am for rope drop, does the photo shop open at 7:30 am or 8:00 am? The agent I spoke with checked with a supervisor and they said that it'll open 8:00 am for sure, maybe earlier. So I'll just plan on it opening at 8:00 am and if it opens before that, it'll be icing on the cake.
