It really does get worse every year in lots of little ways.

DS tried to board ME at MCO w/ reservation.

Told buses weren't going to OKW.

Next, he was told the buses weren't coming so they were sending vans.

He waited an hour for the van.

3 hours later; no luggage. This isn't Christmas week.

called front bell services; no answer; called front desk - they also could not get through bell service.

CM said the airline wouldn't release the luggage - we've heard that *one* before - last year, in fact. When pressed he admitted, that the next run to the airport was midnight and they could get it then.

Asked for supervisor - told one would call me back - not on the phone in the living room because there are no cords attached to the back but I digress

asked for name - cast member insistent he did not know the name of his manager on duty; when pressed, said they were not allowed to tell me - Holy Cr*p, really? At Wal-Mart, the manager's name is posted. Hey - CMs - guess what - you are not royalty - you are working at a theme park - we are guests on vacation (or retired) from our jobs. On a different day, YOU can be on vacation - but not today - today, you are working.

asked to be put on hold - get this- Disney doesn't have the technology in 2015 to put a caller on hold.

called Disney Operator - she gave me the name but said she couldn't reach him either; he wasn't answering his radio.

The manager called 5 minutes later and said the luggage was actually there and being delivered @ 10:05

Waiting.

(waiting for a bus a EPCOT on Sunday, nice older couple in front of me said they had been waiting an hour for an OKW bus - I believed them)

10:41 still waiting - luggage must be waiting for a bus <snort> - thank goodness it can't hold its breath.

Another call to the front desk
Another transfer to bell services

"I am going to call me my bellman and make sure he takes that one next".....

11:00 still waiting.

Hate to tell you this but your call probably didn't go to the actual front desk, it went to a call center who can't put you on hold and doesn't know the managers name.

They are expected to act like the front desk to reduce the number of inbound front desk calls.

If I have to call in house, I always ask if they are in a call center, the response pretty much tells you who you are talking to. I polity ask to be transferred to the front desk and usually they will do it.

When we were on property last week (Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach Resort) we were told there were some major computer outages during our stay. When leaving VWL, we called to get our luggage transferred, were told they'd be up shortly; called an hour later and they said we were glad we had called because the computer had locked up and they lost our room number. Bell services came around a short time later and were breathing heavily, with 2 men and 1 cart, sounded like they were frantically trying to make the rounds to a LOT of rooms to get caught up, confirmed that they'd been having computer problems. Later, checking in to CBR, we were also told that computers had been down for several hours in the middle of the night, and they had some difficulty getting us checked in. Also had some issues with being notified that our credit card limit had been exceeded, which was nowhere near the case...turned out the computer had been trying to charge the wrong card, which had expired. Sounds like there COULD be some type of similar computer issue afoot in your case too...but then again, maybe not! :rolleyes1

I'm sorry for what happened to you.
I'm so happy now that I didn't use DME to transfer luggage during my stay at OWK earlier this month.

However I have to say that my stay was wonderful and I had not a single problem. I liked OWK more than I though I would, I choose it only for the two beds but actually it's a very nice resort.

I do love the resort - see signature. Not happy with many of the changes.
I should have picked him up at the airport and avoided the whole luggage thing.
