Originally posted by DisneyDuo How about a resort with differently themed fantasy sections? Space, castle, dungeon, under sea, italian, etc. Isn't there a hotel somewhere like that (I know, probably in Vegas ;-) It could be fun, especially if you were surprised every time - couldn't reserve a specific "theme".
Actually, I love BCV - as soon as I see the place, I relax. And isn't that the point?
IMHO, you've framed the issue exactly! When I think of a WDW Resort (much as I do a Las Vegas Resort) I think of excitement, surprise, something very much out of the ordinary from my everyday life. High Teas, Incan Ruins, Monorails, the Savannah and Giant Tennis Rackets ::grin:: . However, when I think of a DVC Resort, I want nice and well-themed "luxury" and the secure relaxation of knowing what I'm going to get before I show up.
That seems to be a recurring theme (pardon the pun) of many people's concerns: they want to know what view they're getting, dedicated or lock-off, sometimes even what building / area of the resort. We DVCers (at least the ones who post here) tend to develop favorites - resorts, areas, wings, views, etc. - I can't imagine many of us wanting "a surprise every time".
That being said, a while ago on the Theme Parks board there was a "new parks" thread: I wanted either the haunted/spooky-type resort, or a Dark Victorian/Jules Vernian London look.
How about a fraternity animal house theme, no rules, anything goes, panty raids, toga parties, decorated in fraternity syle hand me downs, jeans only, up all night, loud, half dressed people everywhere, loud music, dancing and parties everynight, no age limit on drinking, "Deathmobile" transportation vehicles, you need to be drinking to enter, animatronics of John Belush when the ladder falls backwards or he's turning around on the lawn of the sorority, food fights in the restaraunts, and a your already on double-secret probation anyway kind of mentalty, psychological testing would only allow rule breakers, hippy types, non-conformists, and former college greeks in.
'Make me want to SHOUT, put your hands up...'
'...little bit softer now.... little bit louder now ....'
Originally posted by wanna-b-Tink I like the spanish theme idea someone had a few posts back. There are absolutely zero houses/buildings/etc built like those in the southwest US around these parts. I'd love to stay in a place like that!

I think they are pretty diverse. I would love to see a poly DVC but it's highly doubtful.
You are right of course. So why does BCV have Cape May Cafe? There is even a framed map at BCV (is it in our rooms) showing Cape May at the southernmost tip of New Jersey. I guess even Disney can't keep the themes straight!
