Does anyone take BetaBlockers for migraines and/or heart pounding?

My sister's on beta blockers now for an irregular heart beat. She feels fine and her recent check-up showed a great improvment in her condition.

I just started taking them about 3 weeks ago for migraines. I take it at night and have had no problems at all! I have had a migraine while on them though, so not sure if it is going to help yet.

My mom had terrible migraines when I was growing up.

About 15 years ago, she started taking propranolol (Inderal) for high blood pressure, and hasn't had a migraine since then.

I used to get several migraines a week, until I was put on Inderal. I took it for a couple of years (this was about 10 years ago) and the migraines have never come back.

The only side effect was that my already low blood pressure got much lower...sometimes I would get lightheaded. That was about it, though.

I take a beta blocker to control irregular heartbeats. I've taken it for approx. 7 years. I've never noticed any side effects, although as addicted_to_WDW stated, I do have low blood pressure because of it.
