Does anyone sleep in everyday!?!?

We do!!! We only get up for character breakfasts. We're night owls. My dd can go til late, but needs to sleep in. 8, 9, even 10 sometimes. If I don't let her, she'll be one of those kids that other parents roll their eyes at (like in the nap thread) in the MORNING. By night, she'd be ok. One reason why we go during the off season.

We couldn't sleep in at Disney if we tried. We're still new to the magic and can't get enough of it. Sleep....who needs sleep?

I hate sleeping. I feel like I am missing out on something. I usually pass out at 10pm, but I am up by 5am at WDW! I am the one waiting (dressed, hair done, full face of makeup) for the food court to open. We are always at the parks before opening, but we take breaks every day around noon.

DH is up at 430 am every day, I am up early as well.. (good studying time for me)

We like Pat, go early... I feel like we get so much done and you don't feel like you are "wasting" any time!

We never get up early. We go often, have been DVC members since it started and have never seen a reason to be at the parks early. We take our sweet time in the morning, enjoy breakfast and family time together and get to the parks "whenever". We are night owls so we are out every night until really late. We have never had a problem with this schedule, we go on everything we want, multiple times thoughout our vacation (although I will say that thanks to DVC we usually go for two weeks or longer at a time) and see and do everything we want. My kids have never been early birds either. We feel that WDW is "home" and we know the parks and the rides so well that we rarely wait for any ride. We also eat at "off" hours, don't make a lot of PS and always get to eat where we want. I think the more you go the better you know the "flow" of people and can adjust your schedule accordingly. We feel that Disney time is family time and we like to "stop and smell the roses" and really really enjoy our time together as a family.

Different strokes for different folks!! It's wonderful that everyone's vacation plans are different because if they weren't nobody would ever get the resort they wanted, go on the rides they wanted, or eat where they want!!!

We never set an alarm for fear of the 2yo sleepy monster. Ours is a night owl - he started when he was an infant and has kept us up late ever since. Our first trip with him was when he was about 17 months, and we took him to MVMCP and stayed until closing. We hoped he would nod off on the trip back, but no such luck. The other people on the bus with us were amazed as he happily sat on my lap pointing out all the shiny lights to them (I couldn't decide if I was proud or depressed about it :)).

I usually get up and wander around the resort until my wife is ready and my son is up. We usually end up at Epcot most every night, then DTD afterwards trying to wear him out. Going in later does have it's advantages, especially if you go in the off-season like we do. The food court is never crowded, and there aren't lines getting into the parks and going through security.

We'll see how things go this December. I'm sure our terrible two will become a little angel when he's three.

On another note, does anyone have tips on how I make can make my wife get ready quicker in the morning? I'd like to make a list and give it to her. I think she'd really appreciate that.

(I'm not that dumb :) )

I'm one of the early birds on my WDW trips. I have been first in line at the parks on my last 2 trips! It's just that I'm so excited to be there I can't sleep(have a problem with insomnia anyways)so I hate to waste my time sleeping when I could be off doing something fun! We're usually done in by 9 or 10pm, but on our last trip we stayed at BWV so we did keep busy right up till then. I promised myself on my next trip in early Dec. I'd try to hit a night club since it'll be just my DH & myself. I just hope I can stay awake long enough!

Im a night owl as well as my 5 year old daughter. We definitely sleep in, usually until about 9:00. Then again, we can easily be up until 2 or 3 in the morning at Disney as well. I look forward to my sleep at Disney. The sleep at Disney is the best sleep in the world. I never sleep as deep as I do at Disney. I think its the long days in the parks combined with that ice cold air conditioning and the peace of mind knowing that you have nothing but fun to wake up to. We miss nothing by getting to the parks at about 10:30 and staying until closing. I definitely dont feel the need to beat everyone else to the parks. I dont know. I think its just in your personality. During our first few trips, we would have to plan every second of every day out and get everywhere at a certain time. I just dont feel like constantly trying to beat the clock and worrying about every little detail. We now just casually wake up, go where we want to go and relax. We've never run out of time to do everything in the parks yet. I'll worry about what the clock says when I go back to work. Just my opinion.

DH & I are normally up at 5 or 5:30am for work, so 7 is sleeping in for me (not DH - he could sleep forever!). We use to get up early and get going, although we usually tried to build in a mid-week calm day (nice breakfast or Character Breakfast, shopping in DD, and night out at PI). Since we have started going to WDW about once a year, we have less of a desire to do everything; we pick and choose what we want to do, and are in less of a rush, which is nice. We also try to do one thing we haven't ever done on a previous trip - this past March I took him to CRT for breakfast. He enjoyed the food, and having his picture taken with all the princesses!

Since we started staying at the AKL, we found that getting up early, bringing coffee back to our Savannah view room, and watching the animals is wonderfully relaxing!

I love the magic of being one of the first people in the parks! I can sleep at home.:D

We start the trip by getting up early. Then as the week goes on, my DH is the only one to get up early. By the time everyone is up and ready, we're usually ready to go about 9:30-10am. We stay until the park closes though.
We might not have opened the parks up, but we sure closed them down each night.

You know, at home we are late to bed, late to rise-- my dh regularly putters around until 3 or 4 in the morning, and I usually am up until 1-- but that schedule doesn't really happen at WDW. We get up early and go to bed early. We have a kid, so we we wouldn't stay out late anyway, but whenever we go the parks close pretty early. There isn't much to do in the room-- no computer, lame cable channels-- so we're often asleep by 10 or 11, so getting up at 7 isn't too bad.

ITA! This describes us exactly! I love not paying attention to the time. Our vacation is an escape from reality and there's nothing more real then having the clock run our lives. DH never works less then 70 hours a week and when we're on vacation we're there to relax and escape everyday life. To each his/her own but for us mellow is the way to go.
