Does anyone NOT like O'hana?

Boy, this has been one of my big complaints in the last few years. When this place started maybe 7 or 8 years ago, they were great. One of the best in WDW. Lots of variety, great service, real attention to the kids, lots of things. It has got worse every year. Two years ago I complained to the manager saying that this was not what it had been before. There are weaker starters, and a lot less entree choices than there used to be. And some of the room entertainment was not, shall we say, top shelf. At if you are not in the main room, you miss most of what they do have.
We went last New Years, I think actually NYE, because my daughter wanted to go there, but it was only slightly better than the year before. And not what is was. As it is, I don't think they even give you those great glass drink stirrers they used to have with your mixed fancy drinks. Things seem much more done on the cheap.

We were so looking forward to this restaurant on our first trip in 2003. We are all shrimp lovers and dh and ds are big-time meat eaters. We were all somewhat underwhelmed. The steak was tough and the shrimp was so messy and hard to peel that it just wasn't worth it. We loved the starters, though. I just feel like $100 for a family of four is a lot for chicken wings and wontons!

We weren't impressed either.

The food was very mediocre, service well it consisted of the occasional wander round with a new skewer of meat and that was about it.

We didn't have any kids with us though, I think people with kids who got involved in the dancing lessons etc. got more out of the experience.

Certainly wouldn't spend money on it again when there are so many better places to eat around wdw.

We ate there once, and we won't be back. We had to wait at least 45 minutes past our priority seating time before we were seated and we sat at our table for another 20 minutes before our server finally stopped by. She ingnored us the whole time and we were not impressed by the food. The noise factor was also a problem. It was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other talk. Made the mistake of eating there once, and won't waste our time and money dining there a second time. We were very disappointed.:(

My first dinner at O'Hana was not impressive either. The service was rushed and the place was very loud. I thought the meats were overcooked and dry. I don't eat shrimp, so I cannot comment on that. I did, however, enjoy the items on the tray on the table.

I decided to give it another try in April of this year. This time, we ate at 5pm - right at opening. What a difference! The meats were cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. The turkey was the most incredible turkey I've ever had!! I really think the timing had much to do with the improvement. ::yes::

DH and I ate their a few years ago. The service was very good and the food was fine. It was a lot for us to eat though-we felt too stuffed after. There were no chicken wings or wontons for apps. The were only some salads as far as I remember. We are trying it again in October since we are staying at the Poly and I think the price is fine.
