Does anyone NOT like Crocs?

Not a sheep here. I love my Crocs because they are comfortable for ME. Don't care what anyone else thinks. My feet that were chronically sore (plantar fasciatis) now never hurt. Even after walking all day at WDW. I've never been one to follow fads. I don't waste my money on things that go out of style a week after you buy them. But these shoes are perfect for me. So, you all go ahead and wear your hot toe cramping tennis shoes and end up with soggy feet at the parks after a water ride. I won't judge your choice of shoes, so don't judge mine. (OK - if I see you in stiletto heels at WDW parks I might judge your shoe choice, but I won't say anything out loud... :lmao:)

My mom has teh same problem as you and her pediatrist told her NOT to wear crocs as they offer no real support to the foot he says they are squishy but that is it and it just hides the actual problem. You will not get any real relief from them and to wear a pair of high cushion running/walking shoes and a good pair of socks and you are far better off the crocs will end up accentuating the problem when you wear any other shoe after it which is counter productive to the problem in the first place.

I am jumping on the anticroc bandwagon!! :thumbsup2

I think they are extremely ugly & I always did. I proudly say I do not and will NEVER own a pair. :teeth: My girls (little stylish & trendy sheep) on the other hand, had to have some, so I bought them Crocs for our WDW trip last August '05. They had worn the Crocs around before we left and thought they were great (because it was all the rage and everybody was wearing them ;) ) but on our first day at WDW we were doing WS and BOTH GIRLS got the most hideous open blisters from them. They could barely make it back to the boat launch to the resort. They are junk IMO. For the rest of our trip it was Tevas and Keens for them with no problems.

Lives4Disney :)

I tried on a pair, and all I have to say is NO THANKS!!! They pinched the skin on the top of my foot where the edge of the shoe was. That was all the convincing I needed to NOT buy a pair!

You won't catch me wearing them! They are ugly and I'm just not going to get them. I'll be wearing my sneakers.
I'm with you! Friends don't let friends look stupid! Even if they were like wearing slippers, I'm boycotting because they are the dumbest looking shoes I have ever seen!! I think we need to start an organization....MASS....Mothers Against Stupid Shoes!!!! Anyone with me?

I am a dad but im in. The funny thing is that people look at crocs and go "oh those are so cute!" And people are going to Dis and counting how many pairs they see in a day! What a waste of time. To each there own but, DAMN THOSE SHOES ARE UGLY! :rotfl2:

I am a converted ex-croc hater. I thought they were hideous... On top of that, I couldn't see how anything that was plastic could be comfortable (I remember those plastic shoes we all used to wear in the 80s...).

But then, I went to New York City, and EVERYONE wears these things! So, I broke down and tried a pair, and they really ARE comfortable!!! If you are getting blisters, you are probably wearing too small a size...

Now, as for the ugliness, this is how I justify it... yes, they are ugly, but I don't care how I look to me. Now, if everyone else is wearing the same thing, then they like them, and wouldn't care what I'm wearing. And, why should I really care what other people think anyways???

I bought my first pair of crocs after hearing the entire rave about them over here. I think they are so ugly, but I figured I would get them for WDW. I tried wearing them to work today, but I just couldn't make it out the door... they looked so stupid on me. Maybe I picked an unflattering color? I got white ones because I thought they would go the best with what I wear. Well anyways, I wore them to the store tonight and they didn't feel amazingly comfortable. They were OK, but not worth $30. Maybe once I do more walking at WDW I will realize how much better they are on my feet than sneakers. But for now... I'm still skeptical

CROCKS STINK! I spent $30 of my hard earned $$ on a pair and returned them the very next day. The hard plastic deal that holds the strap on, hits my ankle just so that it makes blisters on both my feet. So I returned them and got flip flops that made blisters on both my toes. OK so i wrapped somethign around the toe part and now thats fixed, but they just do not offer enough support for my feet in general. I told my crock loving friend she could have them. Wish I had saved my $30 and added another $30 to it and gotten another pair of KEENS on clearance at REI.

CROCKS DO NOT RULE

(note the refference to poor Crock hunter :sad2: )

My daughter has a pair and i tried them on. They are not as comfy as my Teva mush. I am a flip-flop & ugg lover though. And I think they are one of the ugliest style of shoes I have ever seen.

Because of all the times I've seen Teva Mushes mentioned on here, I finally ordered a pair. I agree, they are more comfy than my Airwalks (croc knock-offs. I'm a flip-flop girl too). Hubby's not going to like all the shoes I'm taking to WDW this year.

FYI: I ordered through Dick's Sporting Goods and they gave me 10% off, free shipping and handling, and no sales tax. They even threw in a free return shipping label in case I didn't like them. :thumbsup2 (And I get Creations Rewards points too.) Received my shoes in only 5 days.

Thanks to all who have recommended Tevas!

I have never worn them or tried them on. I am however buying a pair of teva mush. I used to have a knock off pair from Target that I loved. I wore them all the time!!! I finally had to pitch them this summer they were starting to curl and they had absolutely no traction I kept having to put traction stips on the bottom! NO CROCS.

Wow, talk about a shallow thread!

I suppose everyone here would make fun of me at Disney, in my crocs with a fanny pack, hat, sun glasses and cords to hold my glasses on.

Ugly is as ugly does. I will be comfortable on my vacation. You all feel free to suffer if you want. lol.

I won't be jumping on the Crocs bandwagon any time soon. I need a shoe that's comfortable, with lots of support and style. Maybe in my next life, I'll wear Crocs. ;)

They aren't that common in the UK, but I've seen them in a shop down Oxford Street. They look terribly ugly, and no matter how comfortable they claim to be I'd never wear a pair.....

Then again, maybe I will. I'm going to the MNSSHP in October - I can wear some crocs and go as Herman Munster! :teeth:

I just bought cords for my sunglasses, I'll be wearing my fanny pack (unless I find something I like better), and I'll be wearing my huge ladies size 12 red and yellow Airwalks (like crocs) when I'm not wearing my Tevas...so I'll be right there with you. Who cares? I'll be having too much fun to notice what others are wearing. And my bunion will be comfy in my Airwalks or Tevas, but certainly not in my tennies.

As shallow as you may think this thread is I admit I am shallow and will be comfortable while not wearing crocs and I do point and laugh at those wearing them LOL.

I bought a pair of Athens II and they don't have good enough arch support for me so I couldn't wear them to the parks at all. Only wore them at the pool or short walks around the resort.

Tried my DS Caymans and those are not comfy for me either but he seems to have no problems.

I also think crocs look stupid. As a matter of fact I got flamed big time a while back on another post for saying so. Every winter I go buy a new pair of nike sandals that fot awesome and are just as comfortable as sneakers. Plus I think they look 1,000,000% better than crocs. Which by the way are CLOGS.

I am of the school, whatever works regardless of how it looks is what I am going to wear. Becuase my feet will be hurting and that is the #1 thing to reduce pain. We tired these on however, and they rubbed on the top of my foot (size 13) and were not comfy to me at all. I just could not believe these would be helpful to my feet.

So I have a pair of keen newports and a pair of teva water proof trek shoes.

Same here. I keep trying them on thinking I am missing something but I just don't get it????

Hahaha, exactly! I thought maybe it was just because they didn't have half sizes, and thought I was just weird for not thinking they were comfortable! lol

I think they're ugly too and they certainly don't seem comfy. I tried them on at a store and didn't like the bumps on my feet and I think they won't be comfy when they get wet or if I sweat and I believe I will sweat since they are rubber.

I've been tempted and that's why I tried them on. I'm always trying things recommended on the DIS. They are just not for me.

I'll stick to my very comfy Teva Pretty Rugged sandals, thank you.

I don't think this thread is shallow at all. Its just a place for people who don't like Crocs to discuss it. Just like there's Crocs-loving threads. No difference. Just like there's threads about how some hate fanny packs and would never wear them. I love my Disney fanny pack. I'm not offended at all when I see an anti-fanny pack thread. I think some people are just too sensitive and really shouldn't care what others think of anything they choose to wear/buy. :confused3

Crocs are the new " Jellies" and will be featured soon on VHI's new show, " I Love the 00's". :happytv: VHI 's " I Love The 80's " featured Jellies on a past episode. Look what became of Jellies and how many of them ended up in piles at the landfills. :rotfl2:VHI's " I Love The 70's featured those horrible Earth Shoes . :sad2: How many of you remember those crazy Jams shorts? Jams were also mentioned on a VHI " I Love The 80's " show. We humans fall for everything, don't we ? :rotfl2:

Plastic shoes that only come in wide widths and no half sizes, is a recipe for disaster. Many of the crocs wears say they wear them all day and never take them off. Just think how yucky that is for the feet. Shoes and socks should be changed at least once a day to give your feet a breather and time to recover. Just think of how gross and icky those crocs wearer's feet must be. Between picking up grime all day at Disney and literally wearing the shoes for days like a body part, I'm sure many get a nasty foot fungus by the end of their Disney vacation. I'd never give up wearing a comfortable leather shoe for a molded ,rubber clog.
