I hate it. I am not willing to fly unless absolutely necessary. I would rather drive for 2 days. How are you all feeling about it? Any tips to make it easier? I don't carry on anymore, too much trouble fighting for a spot in the bins. The seats seem to be shrinking. But the prices seem to be holding steady. Yuck.

Personally I still like to fly. I still get excited. :cool1: Yes, even with the lines at security, and being "crowded" on the plane, I still enjoy it.

I don't mind flying..............and if I want to go to Disney World, that is the only way to do it !!
I like an aisle seat and that is what I want to get, otherwise I am uncomfortable.

I'm actually petrified of flying, but I do it to get to Disney. I know it's safe, but there always seems to be a serious crash right before I'm due to fly anywhere. Like in Russia a little while ago. Saw that one on TV, and now I'm all freaked out.

I know this isn't a fear of flying thread, but my fears keep me from noticing any inconveniences.:scratchin

I know... I'm flying to TX on Monday and I keep seeing stories like that.

I love to fly.....when I have my Xanax. lol

I have a new flying anxiety. I hate getting on the plane but once I'm on there I'm fine. I don't mind the seats, security, overhead bins, etc. I love to fly, as long as I'm drugged beforehand. ;) lol

No.

I miss the days of running at a breakneck pace through the airport 5 minutes before departure, throwing my bag through the metal detector, then sprinting to the gate and jumping onto the plane just as they close the door.

Or seeing people off at the gate...
Or meeting people at the gate...

Once I'm on the plane it's better... But then I miss in-flight meals (ok... not really...)

(One cool new thing - on my last Southwest flight to Vegas they had on board wi-fi with FREE Dish Network access... It was pretty wild watching TV on my android for most of my flight)

I don't like take off or landing but I am fine with the flight.

I love airports and the whole process...

Me too! And, as long as I'm not going to Walt Disney World, I really enjoy layovers. I love exploring airports and seeing what restaurants and shops each one has. I love reading Sky Mall and seeing the most ridiculous things for sale that you would never need but still like to look at. I enjoy meeting new people so enjoy it when I wind up sitting next to someone on the plan who enjoys talking. When I'm next to someone who doesn't like to talk, there's Sky Mall, a favorite book, and a cold beverage to keep me company.

I used to love to fly. The anticipation of flying was almost my favorite part of a trip. As I've gotten older, I've become totally fearful of flying. I kind of dread it (and we live in WI and fly to Disney every year - and I take a girls trip to visit my bff in Ft. Lauderdale every spring) but I do it.

Our Disney 2012 flight down to Orlando (August) was totally hellish. Turns out we were flying through a tropical depression. The plane actually dropped (hit an air pocket and just dropped altitude) super fast. It was probably only seconds, but felt like 10 minutes - with the same sensation of plunging down a steep roller coaster drop. I was seated with my ds11 at the time and my dh was across the aisle with dd7. It was like a scene in a movie. People were screaming, overhead compartments were opening and stuff was falling out. Ds was crying and I, quite honestly was so totally terrified but trying to keep it from my ds. DD (who is a total adrenaline junkie) was having a blast (and asked if we could do it again.) Dh was watching a pilot farther down the aisle who was just just catching a ride on our flight. He was reading. Dh figured if he wasn't in prayer mode, we were ok.:rotfl:

Incidentally, that trip caused some PTSD in my ds and I. And of course, we still had to fly home a week later. Fast forward to spring of this year for my all girls trip. I actually threw up the day I booked the trip because I knew I'd have to fly. I went to my doctor and he prescribed a nice little valium-type substance to help me deal. Needless to say, I took one of those little pills before getting on that plane and the next thing I heard was, "folks, if you look out the right side of the plane, you'll see a beautiful sunst over Ft. Lauderdale." It was great! Our pediatrician also prescribed something similar for my ds for our trip this past August to Disney. It really made him relax and not be too freaked out.

So after that long-wided story, my answer is no. I really don't like to fly anymore. But I do it if it means getting to Florida without having to spend 2 days cooped up in the car with my arguing kids!

I loathe flying. I like the actual flying and take off and landing but I hate the whole process of it. Layovers. Overbooked planes. Delays. People trying to shove their gigantic bags into the overheads leaving no room for my small carry on. Never knowing if you're going to be trapped on a plane for hours on the tarmac. Too close to the people next to you. Zero leg room.

My husband flies overseas now and then and he likes those portions of his travel. But domestic flights suck.

I actually enjoy flying. I think it's the excitiment of being someplace so different so quickly.

I don't really like it but will do it as needed. Especially to get to an awesome vacation destination!

My MIL booked my flight and I asked for long layovers lol. 1 1/2 hours there(not long especially in ATL) but on the way home I have 3 glorious hours to myself before I return home to my monsters. I'm seeing a nice dinner and wine on that one.

I don’t mind flying, I don’t really care that much about going thru security. I also don’t like going thru the new screens they have or the other option is a full body pat down.

Ooh! What airport?

Back when I used to fly 10-15 times a year, I built up a tolerance. Never "enjoyed" it. Now, detest it. Will only fly if there is NO other viable option.

My wife went from disliking it to HATING it. Oddly enough, it was a storm over Orlando (like PP) that did her in. She will not get on a plane - period.
