Does anyone like Stitch's Great Escape?

Wish it was still Alien Encounter so I can ride it now as an adult and see why I was so terrified of it as a child.

Do you like things that are so lame they should be good but are somehow still lame?
Do you sitting at home in the dark with the air con on full blast and want to recreate that in MK?

If the answer is yes to any of those things, give it a go. Otherwise you can live without trying it.

Everyone saying they remember Alien Encounter makes me feel old, because I remember when it was Mission To Mars!

You should always try it once and decide for yourself. Animatronics are cool, it's fifteen minutes of a/c, there's rarely a wait. That said, I've only ever done it once.

I think this is the first ride I ever went on the first time I went to the Magic Kingdom. Was it still Mission to Mars in 1987?

I think it is a terrible attraction that really needs to go but I also think each person should try it on their own and decide for themselves.

We like it but could live without it. Love the character Stitch but think they could do so much more with him. IMO, its not a horrible attraction, but its not the best it could be either. I wish they would figure out a way to do without those harnesses. That, by itself, would make it more enjoyable as they can be very uncomfortable.

The whole smell thing and some of his antics are all a part of Stitch. Not a pleasant smell but its not horrible either.

I'm also in the minority... I like it. I don't do it every trip, but I think it's fun and I love my kids' reactions to it!

We went on it today, and my sweet Stitch loving nine year old daughter was traumatized. She kept screaming "let me off this ride" once the lights went out in the circle part. I feel horrible that I took her on, she talked about the "tentacles touching her shoulders/back" all day.

And really, a kids atrraction about prisoners?! It could be so much better of an attraction.

And, yes, it think it's fine. It is what it is. It isn't based on any intellectual theory, it's about a cartoon character who is a bit wild but loves chili dogs, before he was domesticated. If you need something serious, then do stay home in the AC and read "War and Peace". That should be heavy enough for ya. And there isn't a single attraction in WDW that you can't live without. They are all based primarily on fantasy and in one way or the other are totally lame.

Finally checked it out yesterday with DS6 and DD9. Found that it was extremely hard for my younger kids to follow, and the 4D effects were pretty lame. Luckily, DD4 wasn't with us, or she would have freaked out. Like everything else, I'd say everyone should see it once, but I have no need to see it again.

The only reason I liked this ride is because it broke down while I was on it and I scored some anytime fast passes. It was bad. As bad as described, especially on the shoulders and the nose. Worth it for the fast passes though!

Would I ride again? NO! (even with no wait) And I like Stitch as a character.

I think you're taking a light hearted discussion about a much maligned attraction a bit too seriously. It's not lame because it's based on a cartoon character (that'd make most of the park an issue I guess), it's the general execution. I know it's supposed to be a chilli dog, but it smells like Doritos to me. Smell is subjective, and if this thread is anything to go by - ride preferences are subjective too

My DD(10) loves it, but she would love any attraction with Stitch. He is by far her favorite character. A new attraction for Stitch would he great!
