Does anyone know why SoCal APs are blocked 6/21 and 6/22?

Hi, I'm new here! I've lurked a little in the past, but finally had a reason to post. We're taking the kids the week of the 19-23rd, and decided to see what the AP dates looked like to guage crowds. I've heard more and more that blocked dates help reduce crowds since they introduced payment plans.

Does anyone know why specifically the 21/22 is blocked? It's an outlier for that month that has me stumped!

This is the only entry for that time period:
Jun 21-24 (Wed-Sat): VidCon (Anaheim Convention Center)
Guessing that's a biggie that will draw a lot of attendance to the parks?

I checked grad nights, and they were over. VidCon is a good suggestion! It's a mystery, huh?

You know, the more I think about it, VidCon makes sense. Not so much about crowd size, but because you have a convention FULL of YouTubers with large audiences with cameras handy. Makes sense to perhaps reduce crowd sizes vs video proof of crowds and bad exposure.

Those blackout dates have come up in past years (at least since 2010), and I don't think anyone's really ever figured out why. There hasn't been any splashy promotions or start of things on those days in the past.

I don't think it really has anything to do with VidCon. Last year was the first year when VidCon and those blockouts have overlapped.

Wow...this is why I go to the Dis. We had a weekend trip planned for the 24th. I say "did." I can't imagine being in the parks with a bunch of people filming every activity, devices waving in the air. Manohman....
