Does anyone know what the charge is for sharing a meal?

I don't really know what you are asking. But you can find menus at AllEarsNet.com and there you can figure out how much it will cost you at the places you want to eat.

Where I live, restaurants charge you, a plate fee or sharing fee if two adults share one meal. Is that more understandable?

Yes.. that is much more understandable. I guess I'm sheltered living in the lil town I do. Oh well. Umm, I don't know the answer to your question. I know at the CS they don't... but as for TS, I'm not sure since we have never shared.

While things could change, so far, Disney restaurants have not made a habit of charging a sharing fee.

Many Disney restaurants, including all character meals, are either buffet or serve "all you care to eat". All guests are charged. Likewise all guests have to pay at dinner shows and dinner packages, such as the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

Disney doesn't, currently, have a sharing or plate charge in any of their other restaurants. I believe Shula's has a $10 sharing charge but they aren't a Disney restaurant.

DD and I split entrees in WDW fairly often. We have never been charged a plate fee. Sometimes they divide the meal in the kitchen and sometimes our server just brings an extra plate. We like to do this because then we can each have an appetizer. DH can eat an appetizer, entree and still have room for dessert.

That was the answer that I was hoping for!! I can't manage an appetizer and entre, but sharing would allow me to try more things!!

Have you thought of doing the dining plan? assuming you are staying onsite. It does NOT allow sharing but it does save you a lot of money over just buying your meals if you plan to eat all your meals on site.

But with the 20% (and then some) increase, it's just not worth it for us. I've done the math and unless you eat till you burst, it's less expensive for us to pay OOP.

We always eat onsite, in both the parks and the resorts.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.
