Does Anyone Know someone in a Arranged Marriage?

I was just talking to my mother about this. She said that my father and his friend (has a son a year older than me) always said they were going to marry us to each other while we were growing up. We used to be the best of friends.

It probably could have worked too....at least better than my choice did

Yes and they are very happily married and awaiting their first child. He is from Guatemala and she is from the Phillippines.

I have friends from India who are thriving in an arranged marriage. They are Americans now.

Wow, you know 6 couples? I have got to get out more.

My DH is the only one in his family not in an arranged marriage! He actually met a few women picked out by his mom just a couple weeks before meeting me (of course, he didn't tell me this until much later, he he).

My MIL is in a wonderful woman - I was shocked by how easily and warmly she has accepted me into their family.
