Does anyone know if this is true?

We gave out some of those little cards they send you to get other people to buy into DVC and my sister was really interested. After explaining how much we love DVC and giving her lots of info she and her husband decided to join. The only thing is they didn't want to purchase at SSR and so they gave a deposit and are on a waitlist for a sold out resort. My guide told me today that he doesn't think we get any credit for referring them because of this. I don't see it anywhere on all the information they send us that the people you refer cannot purchase at a sold out resort(unless I'm just not seeing it). All the post cards and pamphlets I've received state "For each family member or friend who purchases an ownership interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort"...and so on. It doesn't say Non Sold Out Resort. Does it say that anywhere in the fine print that I might be missing? If anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hasn't there always been promtions for getting others to join? Are you saying that those little cards were sent to us only for the purpose of someone buying into SSR not purchasing ownership in a Disney Vacation Club Resort?

I don't remember hearing that the referral bonus program was only for SSR - I thought it was for any DVC resort purchased directly from Disney, too. But Minnesota doesn't allow gifts for referrals, so I haven't paid much attention to those postcards and letters.

Hope you find out that someone else got a referral gift for someone that purchased one of the sold out resorts.

Don't know. I seem to remember that those cards, that come every few months, are always pushing the most recently opened resort.

Yes, they push the most recently opened resort, but it has always stated that referrals were for referring anyone who joined DVC. Your guide is mistaken. Unfortunately, we have referred several folks who have joined, but as Carol said, Minnesota does not allow referal bonuses, so all we got were thank you letters from the guides.
