Does anyone know if the person seeing your scan can see you getting scanned??

Hi Pilotwife
ya i know, all this is confusing. thats why i changed to our area airport. she tells me its federal guide lines and managers decide how to make it work. so yes each one is differant. she doesn't know if they will have to keep going thru the new machines when they get them.
she changed to wearing a sports bra to quit setting of the metal detector and getting pat down 4-5 times a shift
just asked her about flight crew, vender employees and shoes. in uniform and reporting fore/onduty don't have to unless they ring the bell:upsidedow
as far as the ops question, it looks like this port is putting the person reading the scans on a differant floor.

That response just doesn't fit with any other information that I have heard.

On other bbs, posters claiming to be TSAers readily acknowledge that they do not go through screening that passengers go through either before or during their shift. One of their explanations is that they have had a "background investigation" conducted. Another is that with all the metal stuff they are required to have, it would be to time consuming to divest multiple times a day.

Look at TSAers in uniform, on duty. Start with the badge, the belt buckle, the light, pens and loupe, the heavy shoes (likely with a metal shank), the ID card device and clips, not to mention whatever personal items, jewelery, watch and coins carried. It just doesn't make sense to accept that a sports bra instead of a conventional bra makes the difference in setting off the metal detector.

In addition to TSAers on other forums readily acknowledging that they do not get screened, Alvin Crabtree's adventures also demonstrate they don't get screened.

You're just not going to believe anyone whose experience or opinion doesn't gibe with your own, are you?

No, I'm just not willing to blindly accept as fact what you seem to want me to believe. Sometimes my BS detector alarms . . . then I need to do a secondary. ;) That's what happened in this thread

I have not yet found any cites that indicate TSA policy is to screen all their employees each time they enter the secure area and I have found a lot of information that that indicate that such screenings are not done. So I remain skeptical.

I also remain unconvinced that human exposure to either ionizing radiation or microwave radio frequncy radiation is ever safe. It's a question of how much risk it entails and how much risk is acceptable for the benefit provided. I don't think that we yet have a scientific concensus on the level of risk entailed by WBI and we certainly don't have a political (small "p" not partisan capital "P") concensus on the benefits of WBIs. Someday maybe we will, but not yet.

When I posted, I knew that there would be skeptics and criticisms. Am I going to try and change your minds? NOPE. Opinions are like brains, everyone has them. And I too, read a lot of things with a grain of salt.
Picked up our Amtrak train tickets today. Cheaper than air and no baggage fees:donald:

I've read so much about the full body scanners, but the one thing I can't find is their use regarding children. Will our kids have to go into it also?

This thread has run it's course as well. Nothing new being given as info.
