That flight is showing 2 seats available and a number of seats open in First class. There are probably more in coach though, as you can't see the special seats (exit rows, etc.) from AAs website.

That flight is showing quite a few seats available in coach and first class is wide open.

So, to answer your question, neither flight is overbooked at this point.

F and A are the First Class fare buckets, Y is full-fare economy, B, H, M, and L are all economy class, so it looks like AA is still willing to sell some seats. That doesn't necessarily mean they're NOT overbooked, but since there's a fairly large # of seats available (7), then they're not likely to be oversold

Looks like there's plenty of seats for sale on this one

Thank you!

Where can you find this information on AA's website?

Under reservations, go to check available seats. I don't think you even have to log in.

The info that I posted (at least the format that it's in) ... well ... unless you're really interested in air travel, it's probably easier to just look at the easy-to-read version on the AA website ... if you're really interested in getting the "travel agent style" view, send me a PM, and I'll give you a link.

Additionally, airlines are required to tell you if a flight you're on is oversold, if you ask. The agents, however, are NOT required to tell you by how many the flight is oversold. (some may, if you can manage to sweet-talk it out of them, most will not give up this information ... Yield/Revenue management is a pretty well concealed corporate secret)
