My son is allergic to many things and he drinks alot of rice milk. We were thinking about going to the Bahamas but not sure if we will be allowed to fly with several large containers of his rice milk. Does anyone know if we can?

I only know the rules for within the US. Here's what I do know.

You can pack liquids in your checked luggage but PLEASE double wrap them in ziploc bags. I've also read a recommendation to put that inside rubbermaid style containers. If the cartons leak, your luggage will be ruined as well as the luggage of a bunch of other people who have checked bags on your flight.

For carryons, some allergy foods should be excluded from the 3-1-1 rules but you'll want to declare it. I doubt they'll allow you enough for your entire trip but you can definitely take enough for a full day.

Have you checked with your resort to see if there's any way to get groceries? How fussy is your son about brands? Have you ever tried DariFree by Vance Foods? It's a powdered milk alternative that's free of many major allergens (including gluten, milk, soy and corn) and travels really easily because it is powdered.

The rice milk should qualify as an exception by the TSA - but only for the amount that would be needed on the flight (plus, more in case of delays). So, at most, a day's worth; not a week's worth.

Also, I'd check the customs laws for the Bahamas, as you may not be allowed to bring rice milk into the country (as carry on or as checked).

This is a link to the TSA page about travel with disabilities:

TSA = Transportation Security Administration

As the others posted, it would be considered a "medical liquid" and is not handled the same as other liquids. Scroll toward the bottom of the link to see - basically, it says you need to separate out those liquids and declare them as medical liquids. Basically, it just means you separate them out by themselves and tell the agent you have them.

As was also mentioned, amount allowed thru the security checkpoint is a bit vague. Technically, all they have to allow is enough for the flight plus a bit of extra in case of delays. So, you would or be able to take a week's worth in carry on bags.

Then, there is the question of whether the Bahamas will allow you to bring the rice milk in.
You will have to do some checking about that and possibly see if there is any way to get it in the Bahamas. Is he an age that he could do without the rice milk for the time you are down there or could he use a powdered alternative for that time?
I haven't heard of the powdered product another poster mentioned, but it would be much easier to pack in the checked bag than liquid. If you pack powder or liquid in your checked bag, be very careful about weight. Those items are very heavy!
