Does anyone know how to

I've heard of people zipping a small window type airconditioner into the doorway of their tent.

I don't tent, but I noticed many take fans and also have screen rooms near attached to tents for additional ventilation.

yes I am gettin electric, do ya think an ac will really help in a tent? Hey well its a try I guess

Try to use "search" regarding tents and air conditioning. I remember a thread last year about this topic. I never knew there were tent air conditioners until I read about it here on the DIS.

We used to tent camp. (have a popup now) and down here as far as I am concerned you have to have an A/C from June until about September. I can take the heat in the day but I have to have it cool to sleep with any comfort. We just use an old 110 volt 5,000 BTU window unit. I put it on a 4 wheel dolly I had and would roll it up to the door and zip the door closed around it with the front part in the tent and the back outside to vent the hot air. As long as the tent was not in the direct sunlight it would cool it off in the daytime and at night it would get down right cold to the point where we would fight for the covers. A lot of the newer dome tents have small doors on each end to access storage areas and are perfect for an A/C. Just be sure you A/C is slightly sloped with the back of the A/C lower than the front that is in the tent so the water will drip outside the tent.

A word of advice from a Florida native (and still here)...a fan does NOTHING for humidity...which is the big killer down here. The a/c will definately make a difference.

We had a pop-up camper growing up,which had no a/c. I remember many a night laying in the camper, sweating, praying for a whisper of a breeze to come through the window...all the while listening to the sound of the a/c running on the camper parked next to us.

LOL I think im going to check out some resorts for Aug LOL we have central air here and I dont have any small AC's around who wants to add that to their vaca budget, LOL looks like all stars here i come!
