Does anyone know how to get wine smell out???

Yeah, why would Christmas cards come so early? I smell a rat.

I was assuming they were Christmas cards that the OP had ordered to send out this year, which would make more sense. It is a bizarre story, though!

We went to WDW and I got a great photopass photo of the kids with Donald so I knew right away what I was going to do for our Christmas cards. I ordered the cards from Kodak Gallery last week - they were on sale for 25% off and I had one of the $15 coupons they were giving away. I have a walk out basement had shown them to my DM that afternoon and put them on the dryer as that's where we were standing when I showed her them before we went out the door.

I do have an older house. It's over 60 years old. So the wine went thru the flooring (which was cheap totally messed up laminate with cracks and holes in it poorly installed by the prior owner that needs to be replaced and then down thru the cracks between the floorboards and thru a nail hole in the boards.

It wasn't a big bottle of wine but it was full and thankfully it was a chardonnay so it didn't stain, but it messed up three loads because one was in front of the dryer, one was in the dryer and one was in the washer and splashed and splattered when it came pouring thru the ceiling and hit the dryer and washer then it leaked down into the washer and dryer. I wasn't picking thru the laundry to figure out what was clean and what wasn't - I just re-washed it all.

Oh and my thought when I found out DH was drinking the wine was - EEEWWWW! and I told him so. There was and inch and a half of wine in the bottom of the bucket so I don't think he really drank that much just enough to gross me and the kids out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going to try the vinegar and if that doesn't work the icky poo stuff. The whole house just reeks.

Okay...sorry about that. I thought you meant people were already sending you Christmas cards and with everyone else seeming to be suspicious of your story, I felt stupid for not seeing it earlier.

I hope the vinegar works for you!! When I use it I use hot water and it works great!
