I recently enrolled in the EyeMed vision insurance at work and I need to get new glasses. My plan says there is a $25 co-pay for lenses, but it doesn't say anything about what type of lenses or what the max cost they cover.

Does anyone know how that works?

I have EyeMed too and they have different levels of coverage. You might check out their website to find out what they cover for you. (just google eyemed). Also your benefits office at work may have more information. hth.

I checked the website and my company's info on it and could only find what the co-pays are for my type of plan.

We have EyeMd thur DH's employer. We just take the card into Lenscrafters with us. We pick out what frames we like, we usually go with a couple we like and they can punch into their computer what the cost to you will be. You will need to have your prescription with you, as they do need that.

If I remember correctly when I got my last two pairs, 1 daily wear and 1 sunglass pair, we ended up paying just under $300.00 and the insurance covered around $500.00. I have a very strong prescription and the sunglasses had to be sent out to be done.

I know on exams, we only get a $5.00 discount for glasses and $10.00 for contacts. Not a lot, but every little bit helps when you have 4 family members who wear glasses.
