does anyone get trip anxiety?

I start having weird dreams a few weeks before every trip. My family thinks it's hilarious. In one dream MK was a huge cornfield and all day we rode down a giant slide on paper grocery sacks.

I ALWAYS have pre trip or planning dreams. ALWAYS.

They normally involve us missing something - the flight, the busses, something.

I travel quite a bit and have never had trip anxiety, but my husband always worries about us over packing or if we buy stuff how will get it home on the plane. I think this is classified as anxiety since for 35 years he has always said how are we going to get all this in the suitcases? ( yet we always do fit everything so 35 years of thinking we want fit fit everything now make me laugh, but he's dead serious every time he says it )
My only concern which I know is out of my hands is someone getting sick. But after a disney world 2010 of my grandson getting food poisoning, 2011 Hawaii trip me getting food poisoning and just this past week during our Disneyland trip my husband getting food poisoning I know it can happen first hand and it just simply sucks!

Travel of any kind brings out my anxiety. We travel yearly to Alaska to visit family and the night before we fly I am wide awake. I don't love flying, and luckily our trip to Disney is a short 3 hour flight. That aside, I have two kids who get their share of strep throat and coughs and ear infections. When we were at Disney in 2012, my then 7 year old had an awful cough that wore him out. He was a good sport about the trip, but I still remember looking over at him during the Lion King show and seeing in his eyes how awful he felt that day. Broke my heart that he felt that way at Disney. I buy trip insurance mostly to cover the possibility of us getting sick before or during the trip. As soon as we board the plane, I wipe down all trays and arm rests, and I make my kids wash their hands at the park so many times that I'm sure the only phrase other than "Have a magical day" that my kids hear when they're there is "Let's go wash our hands."

My kids are like this too! We are 8 more days and they know the first thing to do when they get home from ANYWHERE is to "wash their hands!" We were just a friend today and their infant sneezed on my daughter's hand (not a sick sneeze, just a baby sneeze). Anyway, as soon as my friend wasn't looking, I whipped out the wet ones and wiped her down!!

My only anxiety is leaving my cats at the cattery, they look so sad when I go and I have moments of worry throughout the trip that they are alright, but, it's a terrific place and they are always in lovely shape when I get back, if fact, Jack is hard to get into his box as he is so comfy there. Apart from that I tend not to get stressed.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets the weird dreams, mine are always that I'm on the last day of my trip and I've done nothing the whole time! Panic!!!

Have you looked into getting a cat sitting service? Those would be a person who would come to your home (after meeting you first) and then tend to the cats at the house instead of you moving the cats to another place. Check with Best Friend or even just craigslist for possibilities.

I say this because we have four cats and even though we have a great catsitter who comes to our house every day, feeds them, changes litter boxes, brings in the mail and even waters our plants, we think our the cats every day on vacation. Off topic but a suggestion.
