Does anyone else feel left out? (vent)

After all the "____ is so yesterday" threads I was starting to feel left out. Most of my close VMK friends are on a different site, which I rarely go onto. Well, it looks like everyone is part of a club now and everyone has those 'inside jokes' but me. My other friend rarely goes on the boards, unless I link him to one of my threads on MSN. Well some people, just like the drama in middle school, are becoming more popular and getting more attention - posting threads specifically for their little cliques. Where's my thread? Where's yours? Huh? I've been on the DIS for almost a year now, and still part of no clique. I think we should start one. I mean, If you start a no group thread you're bound to get a group And it's nice to have a group of friends you can always talk to. Anyone else not part of a clique? Maybe we could meet on VMK sometime I want to elong to something and not feel ditched like I always do I school.

I'm sorry you're feeling left out. To tell the truth, I haven't noticed cliques here, although I have seen them on VMK. There are people here who are groups of mutual friends and you can often find them together, but I don't think they're cliques-- just groups of friends. Are you talking about the slide competition by chance? There are specific group threads for that. I myself am not a member of any team; I knew I'd be out of town a lot this month, so I didn't join a team or try and start my own.

For me, in VMK as in real life, I never belong to a clique or only stick to one group. I'm friends with anyone who's a nice person. In high school, I had friends who were in the intellectual circle, the music scene, the art scene, the JROTC program, the volunteer work scene, and the sports side of things. Only group I made it my business to avoid was the popular crowd because they were all pretty rude. Catch-22, isn't it? Next to no one can stand them, so how in the world did they get popular in the first place? That's the best advice I can give you-- you don't need a clique to feel like you belong. Just befriend anyone who you think is a kind person. Can't really go wrong with that idea.

Anyhow, just wanted to throw my two cents in. I'm sure everyone here would be happy to get to know you in VMK and befriend you. When I'm in the game, I'm usually in the Pirates lobby or the Fireworks lobby, so say hi if you see me!

milkabum you're sweet and I have seen you many times in vmk. we played HM together a few months ago. I am not in any cliques but am friends with some DIS and some non DIS too. but I like dis more but my friends are sweet on other sites too.

I'm going to cancun soon and cant wait to have fun

I agree with SorcerorDonald. You should have to feel the need to be in any "clique". I was certainly never in one. And my high school was almost nothing but cliques.

But I had friends in almost all groups. That also goes along with having interests in a wide range of things.
Some people here do seem to hang out more with a few people rather than others, but, that's probably because they have a few more things in common.
And they will always be friends with anyone else who is friendly.

So don't feel left out. You always have friends here.

Truly, though, we are all just a big group of good friends who enjoy taking pictures of pirate in dresses and funny costumes that she sometimes sneaks in on us. Really. It's quite entertaining.

I hope you don't feel left out because of that thread, you shouldnt. Were not a "clique", but good friends. Thats all.


If you really feel bad, contact her: PirateSteff. She's giving away a free inferno, just ask her to trade a million times and she will give it to you. Make sure you pester her alot, and you might get a few yellow soldiers thrown in there. Pirate also enjoys eating a pork fat sandwich on tye-dye bread in the morning to supplement her cheerios.

Why do we always hang around pirate? Because just like nano, we have no life.

I know how you feel, a lot of the time on VMK or DIS I see all this clique-type stuff, and while I don't think it's mean-spirited or designed to leave anyone out, I feel left out and 'uncool' too a lot of the time. So just so you know you're not the only one who feels like this sometimes!

I think Nanoer's avatar would be helpful right now. As for the Cliques, they are Cliques everywhere. If you can't beat them, join them. I'm on the LOTP thread, that's not a Clique IMO. Like Pirate said "A huge group of friends" is a good way of putting it.
