I have a serious addiction to caffeine, so I'm going to need a cup of coffee each morning while there. I think the last time I went I brought Red Bull with me, but I'm trying not to drink that anymore. PLEASE someone tell me that the coffee isn't THAT bad? I had a cup of coffee in the AK once before and don't remember it being good, but it wasn't unbearable either. Let me know!

If you don't mind Nescafe you won't have a problem.

We drink that swill only when absolutely necessary. We bring our own coffee and make it in our room most mornings. Also, some restaurants - Boma and Kona come to mind - offer pressed pot coffee which is a wonderful treat. But for the most part the resorts and restaurants only serve Nescafe.

Gack! :rotfl2:

My wife and I actually love the coffee. It might be because it is so different from the coffee we drink. One of my favorite things to do when we are there is to go get waffles for the kids and get my wife and I coffee. Then when we head out to the parks we fill back up. I might be the only positive response you get to this post.

we enjoy the coffee in the table service restaurants...don't think it's horrible at all. The pressed pot variety and the regular order coffee.

Have not bought any at the resort counter service restaurants, so can't help you there.

Course, we think Starbucks is awful unless you cover up the taste with massive quantities of flavor, cream, milk, sugar, whip cream, sprinkles, etc.:rotfl:

I have to say that NESCafe is NASTY!! If you want good coffee go to kona Cafe at the Polynesian! That is GREAT coffee! But if you are not stay at that resort, you may be SOL. I wish that WDW higher ups would realize the reputation it NEScafe coffee has and do somthing about it!! I actually brought my own flavored creamer so that could add it to my refillable mug before heading out for the day... I think that made it better, bearable anyway. EPCOT has some independant vendors that have great coffee and kONA at POLY is awesome. But the COffe in WDW as a whole is god-awful!! But I still love WDW and will go there regardless!! :lovestruc :confused3

Thanks all. I don't like Starbucks regular coffee, either. It tastes burnt to me or something?

We're staying at AKL and only doing MK and EPCOT while there. We do have two breakfasts planned for the Wave @ the CR and CP @ MK. Where are the places in EPCOT that offer good coffee?

Thanks for the feedback!

I actually love the coffee- I think it is yummy! also like another previous poster said I think it is because it is different from what I drink every day. At home I use only skim milk and splenda and normally only drink iced coffee - but when I am in WDW and eating like a champ no sense in skimping on calories with my coffee- so I use cream and sugar and that is some yumaliciuos coffee!!! I am actually craving it...I know people will think I am nuts for saying that because my goodness does Disney coffee get such a bad rap! now if you like iced coffee I thought the kiosk outside of AK had great iced coffee- but didnt try the hot so I cant comment on that

THe one i was talking about was a cart vendor over near Test Track.... That was last year and I am not sure if they move or have a schedule. They took cash only, so be sure tohave some $$ on you - no credit cards or room/charge cards are taken...;)

Since we couldn't go to Kona every morning to get our coffee (we stayed at Pop) I had no choice but to fill my mug every morning, and night, with the Nescafe from the food court. Although I didn't think it was great, it really was not bad and fulfilled my coffee addiction. Thought about bringing my own pot but didn't feel like dealing with it.

All in all, if you really need your coffee fix I don't think you will mind it.

IDEA: the other option is to bring the Coffee type tea bags (Folgers? Maxwel House? ) and just use the hot water to make decent coffee in the AM... Just an idea and one that I will have to rememebr when we go to WDW agin in 2011!!!?? ((Maybe things will get better and we will get to go in 2010, but I am not counting my chickens just yet!?)) :goodvibes

DH is growlinga t me about being up an hour earlier in the AM then usual - I am signing off - ((FOr NOW)) I'll check in in the AM wih my good cup of non-NEScafe coffee! :thumbsup2

I really like the coffee. I don't see why everyone has a problem with it. I found it to be very mild, so I don't understand how anyone could say it's nasty.

Thanks - I think this is the answer I was hoping to get!

Thank you! And, hopefully you will be back in 2010! You never know what kind of things are around the corner!! As for bringing my own coffee, I thought about the new Starbucks Via - but apparently that isn't any good either. I think I'm just going to deal with it!

I don't think it tastes bad. It just tastes like regular coffee to me. I didn't even know it was Nescafe until I read that on the boards. I add milk and Splenda though so maybe if I drank it black I would notice:confused3

I just got a Keurig. wish I could bring that with me! Nothing like 5 second coffee!

Seriously, I am addicted to caffiene to the point where I get a headache if I don't have it by 6 am. The nescafe coffee is hot and I put a lot of creamer in it and wa-la :wizard: No headache!

I don't like it..I make myself a cup in the morning and I am good for the day. I don't even drink it with breakfast in WDW..I don't want any during the day when I am there because it is too hot.

I always have had Folgers coffee .....so when we go to Disney I am not unhappy with the coffee. I noticed that it wasnt my usual the first morning but after that I drank it every day. I didnt think it was that horrible. I too put Splenda in it and milk......so maybe that makes the difference....

WE did find a place in AK that made a frozen coffee type drink and it was almost like a Coffee Coolata from Dunkin Donuts....

Go and have fun

Here it is - plain and simple.... After all this back and forth business about the Coffee at WDW, the reality of it is:

Even a bad cup of coffee at WDW is better than a good cup of coffee anywhere else - because you ARE AT WDW and on vacation!!!

:surfweb: Lets be honest - that out weighs the negative in most any situation!! Especially the Disney part! Have a great day out there and enjoy your morning cup of Joe! I know I am!
Cheers!

:) We make coffee in our room. We don't like the Nescafe, but we drink it black. Maybe that is the difference - we are used to coffee, just coffee. Nothing fancy for us. I've never been in a Starbucks. They aren't around here, and I probably wouldn't pay it if we did have one.

Whenever I go to WDW, we stay club level. I have always enjoyed the coffee served in the club level lounges. I don't know if it is Nescafe or something else, but it is pretty good.

My husband and I are big coffee drinkers (thanks to few years in the P. Northwest), and are kinda' used to espresso type drinks (lattes) made with real espresso, can we get those anywhere? We are staying our last three days at the Poly, can I get coffee to go from Kona?
I won't complain if I have to drink "bad" coffee or anything, but if my preference is available why not try to get it, right?
I also heard that SOG has a starbucks and there is a path from the poly. If I took my morning run along that path would I be able to buy a coffee there (we are military) for the walk back???
I know this is a lot of questions for a cup of coffee...but I really, really love the stuff! :surfweb:
