Hello,

We had booked a cat 12 gty and are just so excited that we got a good midship room with a window on deck 2. After checking our reservations on line for a few months, one day, a cabin number was there instead of GTY. So, here's my question - can I count on that cabin or could I still end up with something else? Once they post the cabin number, is that it? Can anyone share their experiences? We're now looking forward to that cabin.

Don't have any personal experience on this, but it would seem from reading some past posts that nothing is really set in stone until you check-in at the port. But chances ARE better that you keep the cabin assigned to you if you have a number.

Our TA tells us that the chances of being upgraded in his experience are similar whether you are GTY or already assigned.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like you were already upgraded.......from a Cat. 12 inside to a Cat. 9 outside. Congratulations :)

If they've posted it as an assignment, they are very unlikely to move you down in category. You might be moved again to another same category cabin or even a further upgrade depending on how sales go before the cruise. If someone wants to buy a Cat 9 and none are available, they'll move you up again!
