Doctor's notice in office says don't eat Pop Rocks candy

If my doctor was actually stupid enough to believe and report to others that sealed packages of Pop Rocks contained a Meth drug- it would be time for a new doctor. :headache:

I thought the same thing when I read the OP. :sad2:

I can't imagine a real doctor saying that.

This sounds like a load of horse shi -- crap. Drug dealers can't afford to just give meth away to the makers of Pop Rocks. Drug users wouldn't want to give their stash away to the makers of Pop Rocks.

OP needs to find a new doctor or find some new stories.

To the OP...if your doctor actually told you that, then you should be giving his office a call to let him know that he is passing along information that is not true. If he did mention it to you, then he's probably mentioning it to all his patients! Good grief!

I think doctor means to pass along the word that "dangerous pop rocks" could be out there and wind up in the hands of your kids.....maybe some kid has a parent who has the meth pop rocks and the kid gets ahold of it thinking it looks like pop rocks and then eats it/pass it out to friends. I can understand how that could happen.

I just tell my kids the reason not to eat any pop rocks, but I'm a worrier like that

I honestly don't think your explanation helps the story one iota. If dangerous pop rocks, then why not dangerous M&Ms? Total nonsense IMO.

Did you ever look at the laced pop rocks? If you google it you will see that they look like regular pop rocks, that's all I'm saying.

Not sure why this thread is on the Budget Board?

I guess so those on a budget know where to score some cheap meth. Just go Trick Or Treating. Drug dealers are just dying to give the stuff away for free. Apparently. :rolleyes1

Seriously, OP, get a new doctor. He's a moron.

According to Snopes and several other sources, there has NEVER been a confirmed case of a child getting sick/poisoned/drugged from halloween candy from a stranger. EVER.

I am not going to worry about it.

And that's why Halloween isn't as fun anymore. Because of all these urban legends about tainted candy and apples, etc, people can't give out homemade treats anymore. The homemade stuff was always our favorite growing up. People in our neighborhood used to make these great cookies and candies and they were always the hit of the Halloween loot and that just can't happen anymore. :sad2:

I'm thinking that no drug dealer worth his salt is giving away free meth on Halloween candy. Talk about a loss leader.

.

I'll be taking any "Strawberry QuiK" if I see any pass my way. I've heard Meth is a fantastic appetite suppressant. And with all the other candy tempting me, I'll need this!

Thanks OP for the tip! ;)

I don't see giving out Meth in Pop Rocks would be cost effective for any drug dealer! :rotfl2: Even if your kid did end up with them in your trick or treat bag...why would you let them eat ANY candy in a plastic baggie and not the original wrapper?

Maybe this Dr. has been dipping into the Pop Rocks a little too much.

I think maybe the Doctor was saying that Pop Rocks looks a lot like methamphetamine in it's crysalized form. Actually it looks more like the rock candy from when I was a kid.

We advise our MS DS 13 not to take anything - candy, drinks, etc at any town or school dances just for this reason. Any drinks he does have, keep it in your hand and don't put it down. Police officers will advise you of the same.

The pop rocks are not laced with meth. The meth looks like pop rocks. And dealers aren't exactly putting it in Pop Rock packaging. I think it's pretty unlikely that anyone is handing out little plastic baggies of meth to trick or treaters. I think you're pretty safe if you get an actual package of pop rocks.

Your doctor is an idiot.
