Do you wear dresses at the parks when its hot?

I didn't read the whole thread, but I wear golf attire almost exclusively in hot weather. Golf shirts and shorts/skorts are made of high-tech material that is specially designed to combat heat. The bonus is that the material resists wrinkles, is lightweight and wears like iron. Some of my golf clothing is 10 years old and still looks like new.

My favorite brands (and the ones that I think perform the best) are Nike and Adidas, and Athleta also has great golf shirts and skorts. All three brands can be pricey if they're not on sale, but the clothing lasts forever so the value is good.

there are no promo codes for sparkle skirts? and does anyone suggest one style over another? I'm short 5'1" and about 105 lbs

I bought the swing style. One in regular length, one in long. I'm 5'8, so a bit taller.
I didn't find a promo code, but you never know.
They do have a sale section....saves a few dollars. One of the ones I ordered was from the sale section, the other was not.

Why do people need shorts under the skirts? I usually just wear shorts in the park, but last year I tried wearing a few light sundresses. I found I was cooler in the dresses. I just wore normal panties under...no shorts. Are people wearing shorts in case the wind blows the dresss? I'm confused...I dont usually find there's a major gusting wind to worry about.

My dd wears alot of sundresses, and she usually wears them with thin knit shorts underneath. They make them(hers come from Forever 21) just to wear under dresses. Last year we were at MK our first day, and a CM came over-it was a windy day-and told her to watch her dress because the wind was blowing it up. She was totally embarrased, because she had forgotten her 'shorts' that day. :)

Not sure about others, but many of the sundresses for juniors now, are reallllly short, that's why mine wears hers.

Years ago I wore shorter sundresses and the wind was definitely an issue. Now I wear mostly capris and maxi skirts.

I'm fat now (I also had twins and never lost the weight, so my stomach is disproportionately large which makes shorts and capris that fit difficult to find), so I look better in dresses than shorts or capris. Spanx style shorts underneath keep the fat in and chub rub down. They also help if there is a gust of wind or if you have to sit and can't cross your legs.
I have Teva sandals for walking around Disneyworld

For anyone with the chafing issues in the heat, Moinstat makes a fantastic gel! It dries fast. It is so great, even my husband uses it while at WDW (shhh, don't tell!) And it was a miracle worker when my son got chafed at the beach last summer.

I've found it cheaper at Walmart for under $5.

My DH and I use that as well. His wasn't chub rub, but his khaki shorts rubbing against the skin

I actually prefer wearing dresses at WDW - I'm chubby and always feel a bit like a slob in a t-shirt and shorts when I see others looking so put together! I always wear spanx under my dresses to prevent thigh rubbing! I've gotten more compliments from CM's and guests alike when I'm in my 50's style sundresses than any other time.

In fact, this year for our trip, I'm sewing an entire new wardrobe for myself. I've gotten some fantastic vintage 1950's patterns and am making dresses and skirts - some are in disney prints, and some are in regular fabric so I can wear them to work as well.

I wear dresses/skirts most of the time in the park if it's warm/hot. When we go in the cooler months, I wear jeans or yoga pants.

I think I'm going to look into the athletic type sports for my trip this summer after reading all the replies here. Thanks for the info. I see a couple of nice ones on the Columbia website. I'm also going to look into the anti-chafing products some of you have mentioned.
Thanks for all the tips!

I wear a sundress just about every day of our Disney trip! Old Navy always has some cute comfy ones for summer. Sometimes I wear sandals or flip flops if not gonna be walking a real long time. If walking a lot then I wear my Sperry's! They look really cute with my dresses. If cool I throw on my Blue jean jacket or a light sweater in the evening....

I wear dresses with jockie skimmies underneath, they are just underwear, only a little longer so my legs don't rub or stick together.
I wear the same combo, I love those Jockey skimmies. I find it much more comfortable to wear this than a pair of shorts when it's really hot.

Now you all have me re-thinking my wardrobe! I just don't want to have to buy much new stuff. I have some sundresses for work. I'll have to look to see if they would work.

50's dresses would be perfect for me. I like the knee length. Would love to know where you found them. I don't sew unfortunately.
