Do you wear a fanny pack to the parks?

  • Fanny packs are a fashion sin!

  • I don't mind them but don't wear them.

  • I never have but will be fanny packin' my next stroll up Main Street!

  • My fanny never enters WDW unpacked.

  • I have my fanny pack on right now.

I would estimate that a full 50% of the people I see at WDW are wearing one!
:sunny:

I would never be caught dead in one EXCEPT in the World. I can't imagine not having one with me in the parks, both hands free yet all my stuff in reach :) My dad even wore one, kinda scary yet ya know, you do what ya gotta do.

I do! Although I wouldn't be caught dead with one on outside of WDW or the Orlando airport, for some reason I find that it's "fashionably acceptable" inside WDW and probably other them parks.

Me 3!!

I have a purse that I put everything in and can put it around my neck and I'm good to go. Of course I also have a bag or backpack full of stuff too.

I would never wear one!!! Who needs more junk in their trunk.
But I do find it funny that they call 'um fanny packs and most people I see in WDW wear them on their belly---- therefore they should be called "belly packs"---LOL

DW used to wear a fanny pack (in both WDW and Las Vegas) until she found a small back-pack purse (the strap zips in half to form two backpack straps). We still use a fanny pack for pool visits; they hold keys, a little cash, sunblock, sunglasses, etc.

WDW is the only place I will be wearing my new fanny pack. I love the idea of everything at my fingertips. Thanks for the reminder about pictures though- I;ll be taking it off then.

I either wear or carry mine only because it is large enough to hold everything, (except warm clothes), that I may need while at the world. My family is horribly embarressed by it as it also has a pin bag in front of it. However, it suits my purpose and I don't use any other time, (except at DL). A purse just gets in the way and a backpack is too big.

This is so funny. I always thought that the people that wore them thought they were cool...

I wore a fanny back on our wedding/honeymoon trip, but it got on my nerves - especially when we were running across the MK after WISHES to catch the fairy to get to the monorail to go to EPCOT to catch Illuminations...(I'm tired just typing that) Plus, I thought it was ugly.

So, for our next trip (FEB 2005) I got the cutest tiny Vera Bradley purse (Amy, I think it's called) that I just wore across by torso. It carried my digital camera, sunglasses, a tiny wallet and some sunscreen and weighs virtually nothing. I LOVED it!!! I will certainly be taking it back for our next trip!

I love my WDW fanny pack!!

I wouldn't be caught dead with it anywhere else, but at WDW it's okay!! ;)

No way Jose. I have a bag that attaches under my wheelchair that I keep my wallet and whatnot in.

Gotta have it and I don't care how it looks! My son has an epi pen that is a must have on you at all times! Plus an inhaler- plus last trip we had to take his trusty blanky (very compact thankfully) with us too. The security guard gave him a wink when he saw that in his safari Mickey fanny pack.

Nope, we know it's a faux paux!!! We do it anyway - but only in WDW :-).

It's kind of like wearing the crazy hats, or even mickey ears. Would you do it in real life? Probably not, but in WDW anything goes.

I get the best of both worlds. I make my Dear Husband wear his "bum bag."

Oh, gawd, no. Except maybe my mom. :rotfl: No, I wear it in WDW, and only in WDW, because I don't care how dorky it looks, it's so convenient. I can't stand wearing anything as heavy as a camera around my neck, and backpacks aren't convenient for me - too hard to get on and off (I have a backpack purse that I thought would be wonderful, and it sits unused in my closet). A fanny pack (though I wear it in front, off to the side) is just perfect. :flower:

Technically, I do not wear a fanny pack becuase I wound up giving mine to my son. My DH and DD both wear one too. I have a princess backpack bought at WDW that allows me to hold the camera and a bottle of water plus all the other things that moms get stuck with -- passes, maps, PS times, etc.

We use our packs only at WDW. That is the only place my DH will wear it. And that's fine with me. :)

Kristen

Oh, DH and DS both wear their packs turned to the back. DD wears her's with the pack in the front. I guess it's a "guy/girl' thing??

ETA: By the way, we don't call them fanny packs -- we call them hip sacks. Sounds a little better if you ask me! ;)

I wore my fanny pack and I even got one for DFi, it was so easy to carry all the cameras etc, hands free is defintely the way to go, I'd be SO annoyed with a bag.

I have a WDW pouch (fanny pack), I wear it everytime I go to WDW. As 3DisneyBuggs said I only use it in WDW. I have done this for years and love to use it.

I cant possible go to any theme park without my fanny pack. I wear one, my hubby wears one, and on our last trip my son wore one. We carry all our junk around in them and dont have to worry about anything getting stolen and being in our way. They are soooo handy I cant for the life of me understand anyone saying "I will NEVER wear one". I dont understand if thats just a fashion thing or what.
