Do you wear a fanny pack to the parks?

  • Fanny packs are a fashion sin!

  • I don't mind them but don't wear them.

  • I never have but will be fanny packin' my next stroll up Main Street!

  • My fanny never enters WDW unpacked.

  • I have my fanny pack on right now.

just can not bring my self to wear one....they conjure up too many visions of 80 yr old blue haired women in " vegas "... now where did my bingo marker go?....:rotfl2:

That's my Grandma you're laughing at!

Fanny packs make my hips look big ( :rotfl2: ), so I and partner in crime wear cargos. Really, we only go with bare necessities like wallet and camera, both fit nicely in pockets.

I absolutely hate fanny packs....for anyone who has any bulge around the middle....fanny packs only add to that, not to mention they are so easily pick pocketed!

The last time I wore one was sometime in the 1980's.

I bring a fanny pack. I don't want to lug a purse and I can keep everything we need in it. It's easier. I don't care if it's cool or not, it just is easier. pirate:

My DH, DD (age 12), and I all wear them! Hubby's is pretty big which fits our camera, maps, keys, his cell. Mine has money, credit cards (heh heh I think I got a better deal!), hotel cards, WDW tickets, cell phone, sunglasses. DD carries her sunglasses and cash and lip stuff/sunscreen. DS is 6 and didn't say he wanted one but this time around he just might!

And I only wear them otherwise during tag saling or flea market shopping.

I guess if I had know I would have worded my survey choices a little differently! "fanny packin' up main street" :rotfl:
A pastor friend of mine told me about when he had traveling pastors from Australia staying in there home for a week, well one night after a big meal his wife exclaimed "Boy, I'm stuffed!" She then got horified looks from their guests. Later she found out that being "stuffed" means being... um... ready for intimacy.

If it appears it is going to rain for sure - I will bring a fanny pack with ponchos - this depends on the time of year you will be there.

If not, I have a bunch of cargo shorts (with the huge pockets on both sides). That holds the camera. If you do not have a bag, you can bypass the security line.

Ha! My DH is an Aussie and he is shocked at how we say "fanny pack" over here. :rotfl:

He uses stuffed to mean tired, though. :confused3

I only wear one at Disney. It's the perect size for everything DH and I need for the day--Room Keys/Park Passes, camera & film, some cash/travelers checks, sun glasses, autograph book and a pen. Mine even has Winnie the Pooh on it since I bought it on our first trip to WDW together.

Would I ever wear one anywhere else......I won't say never, but I doubt it.

I'm not sure what makes it a fashion faux pas, while a backpack is fine and dandy. WDW is a day long hike. I don't take my pocketbook hiking with me.

They're not form flattering, but neither are cargo pants or those diagonal bags -- or appropriate footwear!

I don't care for fanny packs, but I do carry a small leather Winnie the Pooh back pack. It's great for puting our hats and glasses in when we are on the faster rides, and I can also carry extra sun screen and any little purchases that we don't want package delivery to bother with. I've taken it on every ride at WDW (including water rides and RnR) and have never had a problem!

I used to ONLY AT WDW, but since the last 2 trips we have taken, our younger son (autistic) has come with us I switched over to a sling bag with a place for my cell ohone on the outside. Probably will never go back to the fanny pack now. More room, easier access and I can still wear it on the rides just like the fanny pack. Next trip in 2007 we are just taking my older son and our younest will stay home (goes to a special school and really regresses when he misses any) so we will see if I revert back to the fanny pack!

I have no problem with other people wearing fanny packs. I think that they are a great invention-who wants to lug around a purse at the parks? I prefer not to wear them b/c it is not my style and I am only 5'2"-I don't need something bulky right in the middle of my body to make me look even shorter.
I say if you enjoy your fanny pack-go for it! :goodvibes

Never a fanny pack ( I already have a little pouch there) :goodvibes , but always a backpack when I travel with my niece and nephew. They call it Aunt Patti's bag of tricks. Every time they would get a little restless or cranky, I would open up my backpack to find little gifts (mini fans, pennies and quarters for the presses, expandable washcloths when it got really hot, new pens for their autograph books, snacks, etc.).

We're going again in July and already my nephew said " don't forget the bag of tricks!" :rotfl2:

Who actually wears them on your "fanny" (and I don't mean the Aussie version lol!) and who wears them on your front? I have never worn one on my back! LOL!

if you go "fanny packin'" up main street, you will surely be in a cell next to Tigger! (wink wink nudge nudge know what i mean) :rotfl:

I always take wear my fanny pack at WDW. I don't want to bother with a purse. Too much trouble.
